Great guide, only problem is, that even if you choose English at start, but your phone has different display language than English, once paired the band will be in Chinese. If I change my phone's general language to English, then band is in English as well, otherwise it changes to Chinese automatically after being paired. I have the Chinese distribution version

i bought my Smart band 8 from mi store Greece. How do we know if it is from China and need to change region ..? My samsung mobile had my old Smart Band 6 listed on Bluetooth connected devices. When I try to search for Mi Band 8 at Bluetooth I did not find it on the list of new devices to add. on Mi Fitness App I find the Smart Band 8 and is connected sync there only.. i did restart phone did reset the Mi Band and still do not find at Bluetooth search the Mi band 8 . What to do to fix it..?!

Your could be china version not global so select region china then it will appear

Just got the Xiaomi Smart Band 8 today as a gift from my sister. I too had a problem just like yours. Had to do a bit of a tinkering with the app. I went to the profile page and clicked on the plus icon positioned at the top left corner of the screen and selected scanning. Then scanned the qr code on the band and it worked like a charm. Also I had set my region to China.

I accidentally set language to dutch for initial set bec i accidentally double tap the screen until the QR code shows good thing it auto set to english after i set up my region and now my watch and phone are sync and works perfectly fine😅😅 phew😅😅
