How to Pancake a C10 Crossmember

We cut a C10 front crossmember to pancake it. This allows you to lay flame.

Fantastic job on that pancake. I’m with you on that tape problem. Layout was much easier when you didn’t have to deal with a decimal. Leave the tape width alone!

what about the steering linkage alignment now? flip the tie rod ends to the bottom of the spindle?

Bolt holes on side of frame won't line up.

Why not only cut a section off where the frame can slide in?

Thinning the frame weakens the frame. Most of the weight of the car is up front. Thanks for watching!

Hey guys, It looks like the steering rod will touch the harmonic balancer on the SB??, also looks like the pancaked cross member doesn't have room for the oil pan?? comments??, suggestions? THANKS

There is plenty of room between the pan and the crossmember. There is also no problem with the harmonic ballancer. I'll try to get better pics
