How To Parallel Park - NEW reference points and technique

I’ve been using your reference point when you can see the back/front of the vehicle you steer until you’re at an angle. Lucky for me I have a reverse camera so I can judge when to undo the steer and tuck myself alongside the kerb 😊 I prefer being closer to the kerb to avoid any cars knocking off my side mirror. Thanks for making the parallel park easier, a lot of people say it’s hard but it’s not too bad as along as you have enough space and do your observations

Love watching people parallel park, to see all the different techniques is great. A little too reliant on mirrors tho, deffo needs to look around more. A lot of people panic when they need to go into “correction mode” and become so fixated on fixing it that they forget to look around. Remember guys, observation is super important throughout!

I'm currently learning and I was taught that when moving back start turning into full lock once your back left wheel is in line with the back of the car opposite and once your front left wheel is in line with the back left wheel of the other car turn the other way until your parallel

I got a parallel park on my test… I’ve always been 50/50 with it.. thankfully on my test I did the best parallel I’ve ever done😂😂

The most important part of the parallel park is the distance you start from the car you are parking behind. Don't go too tight or the angle can be too shallow. You want to be roughly 40 to 70cm away approximately. The tighter the space the further away from the car you want to be. If you get that part wrong you are going to struggle. Then it's a case of observation checks. Turn in when yiur shoulder is roughly in line with the end of vehicle get the desired angle you need then as soon as you can see the front of the car car will clear when you start to turn in yu you can start to turn in. Then just guide the vehicle back checking all around. On your lessons you should be practicing in spaces that are single not a double this will then build your confidence up. When you've past your test any space that you can part 2 cars behind you will most likely drive into and not reverse into. Also if you want extra challenge practice doing on the opposite side of the road, but only do once you have mastered doing on the left

@Francistravels reference point is a starting point with experience you will learn to turn before or after the reference point. A lot of it depends on the space behind and also the distance next to the car you are. Instead of thinking I need to be here think of areas to be

If had to do the manoeuvre again and done it perfectly would I get a minor fault for having to redo it. Like I would if I moved forward to straighten up as its a reverse manoeuvre.

I went out today with my friend in my car and was smashing the parallel park, but then there was a car behind me who had to wait all of 2 mins for me to finish, drive past me and beep and flip me off, I started the manoeuvre before he was behind me 🤷‍♀️ I had my L plates on obviously and I wasn’t taking the piss, I was actually really fast parking up
