This is one of the best parallel slide tutorials I've seen! I did my first parallel slides and parallel power stops the other day and practiced like 100 times that day (I was afraid I'd lose the feel if I didn't practice right then and there). Now your tutorial will help me focus next my practice sessions. Thanks!!!!

Bro you are great at explaining!!! I’m an ice hockey player but out here in the Bay Area of Northern California we don’t get ice and I ain’t got the money to go to the rink all the time so roller skating is the only real practice. I wasn’t able to parallel slide on pavement till I seen your videos!

I respect hockey players and love the way they slide/brake on ice. It's so awesome to hear that my video helped you to take your sliding skills to pavement grounds...I appreciate u commenting.

Best video I've found so far. My dude even explained the pain on your feet when you first start skating. I looked everywhere for that info, I thought I was doing something wrong somedays when I'm done my feet hurt so much I felt like I needed better skates lol😅

Haven't watch the whole video yet and didn't even know you had a channel. I've watched a lot of inline skate tutorials and I'm quite amazed by the clarity in the way you explain things and your attention to important details that I think a lot of people would leave out. Really outstanding. Subscribed and thumbs up. Going to check to see if you have any other videos. 👍

I'd have to disagree on the hardness, at least for learning. I had a ton of trouble at first because my wheels were so sticky. The moment I put on 90A's it started clicking. Now I have no problem with 85s, but I always recommend super hard to start. Progressively tighter slaloms helped me too, for getting the feel for when the slide starts. After that, you just have to commit. You snap it in, or you don't. No in-between. Once it clicks, your body knows what to do. Nice job.

Your description of how and why is the best I've seen! I've been trying and failing to do any foot-forward stops, and after this video I can't wait to try again! I'm a fat and not very bendy 53yr old on 125mm wheels; any tips for those of us that are a bit less flexible? And should I borrow some smaller wheel skates first to get the hang of soul, power and parallel slides, instead of my 125s? Subscribed, I look forward to watching more!

Hey thanks for keeping blading alive don't matter the age I'm always excited to see more people skate. In your situation, I would recommend trying sliding techniques on smaller wheels 1st because being lower to the ground makes it easy to get bendy. Have a good hardness of wheel (aim for 85a & higher) to support your weight and be sure to wear protective gear when starting out (this includes hip pads). Now that you've got the right gear in place...by all means practice day by day and be sure to wear down your wheels 1st so that it's easier to initiate slides. (Even if you want, could try on wet grounds just to get the swinging motion downpack 1st. By any means you can message me back and I'll help out the best I can. Thank you for subscribing!

Wow, this is actually the best parallel slide tutorial I've come across!! Today I realized it was easier to stop on my right skate since I was mostly practicing power slides on my right, and your starting advice to wear your wheels down for sliding was the exact explanation I needed to understand why it was so hard to stop on my left. Props!
@Inliner242
@Inliner242 Жыл бұрын
Yes, wearing down the wheels is a must! I think this is one of the most important steps that must be taken 1st before sliding. Think of it this way, if the ground is wet then there's less effort needed to push into a slide because everything is already slippery. But when the ground is rough then you're gonna have to put in a lot of physical push because you basically gotta dig more into the ground because of the terrain.

The fact that you was practicing with the right skate as your stopping leg has built it into your dominant foot for braking. So the muscles are in place already for power of stopping/sliding. Glad I could help and thanks for watching

If it doesn't slide what might be happening is you need to wear your wheels in some more. Do plenty t-drags and powerslides....the wheels become easier to slide then. Try Parallel again once you're sure it's easy to get into a slide on your wheels

Slalom on a slope. Turn tighter and tighter. At some point you'll start the slide without even trying to. Then your body will know the right angle and speed. After that, you just have to commit. Well, that's my personal experience. Worked for me.

Hi, bro! What do you think about power slide on 3x110? Its possible?
@Inliner242
@Inliner242 Жыл бұрын
Yes it is, the most important factor is gonna be wearing down your wheels 1st (check link in description to see How to) but yes you can slide in any size wheels once they've been worn down a bit because now they'll have less grip.
