How To Pass Nursing Fundamentals | Nursing School FAQ Series

In this video, we're going to talk about How to pass nursing fundamentals in nursing school. This is one of the most common questions I am asked by nursing students, and we are going to go step- by-step how to feel super confident in your nursing fundamentals course in nursing school. I have four tips for you to help you pass your nursing fundamentals course.
We'll talk about how to take notes, what to read in your textbooks and how to focus your studying. And we'll dive deep into critical thinking and what it truly is. We go over the 4 main categories you will want to focus your studying on and how that will help foster your critical thinking skills. Now, nursing school exams are always going to test you on is how well you critically think, and this starts in your first nursing school courses, usually fundamentals. So we will go through the two main points of critical thinking, connecting the dots between everything that you're learning and planning ahead. That way you will know exactly how to pass your nursing fundamentals course.
Then we will talk about the most important skill you will learn in nursing school, the head to toe assessment. We will talk about how you can practice this and get super confident in your assessment skills.
You will be a fantastic nurse that God created only you to be and you are doing better than you think you are, friend.

As far as getting used to NCLEX® style questions, the resources we always recommend are the Saunders NCLEX® Comprehensive Review book (it's a physical book), and the NCLEX® Mastery App (this one is an app for your phone). ​​​They have tons of options to filter through questions (fundamentals, pharmacology, med-surg, etc.), and they are very similar to the questions you'll see on the NCLEX®. ​​​ Hope this helps!! UGH that happens sometimes!! Does your school use ATI or HESI?? If it's a test bank like that they won't know exactly what's on the exam. BUT they will definitely know what topics you'll be tested on, so those are the topics you'll want to focus on. 🤗
