Holy Heck I've finally got it!!!! I've been adding e/m levels to ED charts for 11 years and just started studying for my CPC and I keep getting the E/M levels wrong on all of my practice tests!!!! Mr. Hoang Nyguyen, thank you for your videos. You have a talent of teaching to make it easy for us to learn. I’ve learned so much! I took my CPC exam and just waiting for results. I noticed on the exam on E/M part they had a few easy questions that had the easy locate the verbiage you explained to look for for example “expanded focus” in finding the “final E/M level. Most of E/M question had no clear wording of “problem focused, expanded focus , detailed or comprehensive “ so they want us to find and determine the level of history, exam and MDM. I wish you can teach us how to find those levels so we can determine what do when we come to this part of E/M level in video. There’s also a table of risk that’s part of factor. I find this video is helpful but it’s not showing the whole picture on how to do it. I wish you can look into making another video on this topic . Thank you very much for your time.

Hi Chunchira. Thank you for your feedback and suggestion. You took the exam so you know exactly the format of the E/M questions. If they want you to read the table of risk then I will be working on it for the future videos. My approach is "quick and easy" since it's a multiple choice questions so let me figure out the best strategies for dealing with table. Thank you for your comment and support. There are only a few questions on the E/M section so I hope that you will pass the exam if you score well on other areas. All the best.

Thank you so much for this video i was waiting for this video. Now its much better understanding but some cases they won't give you MDM level and time but you need to calculate by our own the level of complexity that one is lil difficult i found.

Hi Kinnu. In multiple choice type questions, the correct answer is already listed in either A,B,C or D so I don't know if they want you to calculate the MDM. Please use the process of elimination and you should be able to narrow down the correct answer. I will make a separate video to show you how to assign a correct E/M code based on actual physician documentation for work but not for the exam. Thank you for your comment and support. I truly appreciate your knowledge, im really uneasy about taking the exam. I do have issues with guidelines, what is the quickest way to tackle questions when they are bundled and have guidelines. I have the 2021 books taking the CPC exam very soon this year. What is the best way to also tackle time management?
