Hi Rhys and Dane I have a question, I have my test coming up on Friday and am worried about the questions and road signs. Can you tell me how many you were asked of each so I can try my best to learn as many as possible.

They will usually ask you 4 or 5 questions and road signs, try to learn them for the right reasons aside opposed to learning them specifically in order to pass the test.

Thanks for your videos. Watched before heading down. I failed though. I had 5 grade 2s and 1 grade 1. Was 2mins away heading back to the test center, concealed right turn, car didnt indicate, as i made my way onto the left lane, bro was on my tail -- i took off to give him more space but still got grade 3. Tester said i should have known that everyone does not follow the rules. This was in Dundalk today.

Passed my test yesterday. Memorising the 123 and MISS acronyms was the deciding factor! I always had issues with remembering to check mirrors and with starting from a parked position but these acronyms helped me to remember. Thank you!

I have been watching your videos all day and find them really helpful. I have my test next week and it will be my 4th attempt. Smog was taught to me by my driving instructor it can be used when changing lanes. Signal Mirrors Over the shoulder Gas/go

I don't know because it's not relevant, if someone passes or fails with me it's not entirely down to me, I just try to promote good safe driving. I don't have an ego in need of massaging.

Is FACT the same for a diesel car? I find it harder to take off using gas first and then biting point rather than biting point then gas (on a flat surface not hill start)

It's the same but perhaps not too much juice as you won't need it so much in a diesel.

Hi Dane, thank you for this video. I have a question about overtaking: If there is a row of cars parked on the left which you want to overtake, but there is also a side road leading to the right, is it correct to signal to the right as you overtake or would that be considered misleading?

It's not misleading as you're intending to indicate that you are moving out for parked cars, just ensure that you don't leave the signal on too long, switch off when level with the first parked car.

Possibly so, depends on how busy it is or if you are about to turn or change lane. Constantly checking mirrors is overrated and ridiculous - it's more important to be looking ahead.

That's complete rubbish. And it's also called lazy analysis. You should check your mirrors approximately every 7 to 10 seconds but it's more important to plan ahead and look for danger ahead. The mirrors are important at certain times such as overtaking or changing lanes.
