Absolutely beautiful! Thank you for talking us through it. What colour did you use for the land please? Also, was it a brush you used, if so what kind?

Could you do a demonstration on the paper, showing three progressions of clouds from beginner to your stark 3D wonders...I get awe inspired watching your cloudscapes, but when I start, out comes the mud! See where this comment is going? I'll send you my past three paintings for you to see where my painting expertise is heading!

Les I would love to hear your story about how you became an ambassador for Canson!
@lesdarlow5 жыл бұрын
I had been using Canson products for a long time with great success and I am quite an extrovert showman and wrote to them telling them of my love for the product. I am passionate about their products and can demonstrate them to their best. They were at that time creating an ambassador program in th UK and I was first in line and have been with them ever since. they are the best

this is the kidna of thing that makes me inspired so i start tryign to do stuff like this and then i jsut give up cuz im horrible

You CAN learn to do this! It does take practice though, but if I can do it, anyone can. I didn’t start even trying until I was in my mid 50’s. I couldn’t even draw good stick figures but I’ve always secretly wished I could paint. God finally gave me the time to learn. I watched videos and tried and realized I can do it. Yes, I’ve also created mud so I took a color mixing class and read about color mixing. I also took classes from local artists. Just keep painting. Eventually you’ll create something you love!

What paper are you using? Does it allow for multiple layers?
@lesdarlow5 жыл бұрын
Hi Im using Canson Mi Teintes paper, a 50% cotton paper. It does allow multi layers, but I add light layers and use slightly harder pastels, I find it fills easily with super soft ones...

Les Darlow I just saw this now...Thank you Les! Was this paper similar to what Degas used?

Your work is beautiful and well orchestrated. I simply don't enjoy time lapse tutorials. I find them annoying and have a feeling of anxiety with the watching of them. For that reason I have stopped watching this sort of tutorial. I believe it's impossible unless one is advanced already to get what is being pitched. However these will continue to be and that's a given..I just won't be viewing them..sorry.
