i just usually create an automation clip on an eq or fruity balance dont need to pay for plugins to sidechain you can draw your clip to the waveform of your kick

Idk if it's better or worse, but could you just add a peak controller to the 'Kick' channel and add Parametric EQ 2 to the '808' channel, and just link the 1st band in EQ 2 to the peak controller? That's what I do and have seen other people do the same thing. Like I said, idk if that technique is better or worse, because I dont like side chaining the kick and 808 together 😬
