Can’t believe this has only got a couple of views. This is by far and away the best video of how to properly flush and change steering fluid. Hope it gets more views. Keep up the good work.

Your videos are very good, very instructive .... the music is very good !!! ... especially the gauge rings... I wanted to ask you a question, I saw in the video that your car does not have a fan. How did you make that adaptation? a lower temperature thermostat? You only have the electric fan? or did you install another electric fan? ... if so, could you make a video on that topic!!!
@aussiee36264 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much for your feedback mate! Now about the fan, when I purchased the car the belt-driven fan had already been removed and replaced with an electric fan, so I cannot give too much info about the installation of said fan. However, I will certainly do a video sometime showing the parts and how it all works!

I was considering the same route, but then I stumbled upon another one: - jacking up - sucking reservoir empty - pulling return line (thinner one) off - closing/plugging connection at reservour - leading pulled off return hose into empty container - moving from lock to lock while engine off - keeping open reservour topped off with fresh fluid, making sure it's never empty Supposedly, once the fluid drips into the empty container the same color you pour into the reservoir, the system is flushed. Has anyone tried this with a BMW?
@paradoxxaudiovisualproduct94303 жыл бұрын
Thx im going to apply this to my z3. I think its similar to e36 .

@@aussiee3626 my local autozone gave me a green fliud instead of red. Tring to find the red one. If i find my owners book from like 20 years ago. ( yes i know im old) .is green okay or ot has to be red?.
@aussiee36263 жыл бұрын
Colour shouldn't matter, as long as it is automatic transmission fluid (Dexron III or above) that is fine. Unless the z3 uses a different type of fluid, I'm not entirely sure.

You did a great job there. But how can one drain the oil inside the rack? Is it by that 22mm bolt u showed?
@aussiee36264 жыл бұрын
By draining the fluid from the power steering pump and turning the wheel back and forth a few times it pushes the remaining oil out of the steering track
@bamidelekoledoye11614 жыл бұрын
@@aussiee3626 I did. But the steering is still hard even after bleeding and changing the oil. What do I do?
@aussiee36264 жыл бұрын
@@bamidelekoledoye1161 Might have to Google around to find a solution, I suspect it might be the power steering pump is dying out, or (hopefully not) the steering rack. You could try cleaning and lubing all the steering parts, including the cross joint and lower joint assembly. That might help

How many liters for e36 316i
@aussiee36264 жыл бұрын
It would be the same amount of fluid I'm guessing, the reservoir holds about 1/4 litre and you'd need about 2 all up to do a full flush like I have in this video.
