Thank you so much for this video! The four-level classification is really helpful. I tried to do it for the first time yesterday, but was scared to go all the way back. This seems like a great way to build the confidence, along with muscle strength

Olga Prokhorchuk so how is your progression now with the pistols being that you wrote this review a year ago
@olyushok9 жыл бұрын
Raw Fitness ah, I haven't checked, to be honest with you! My squats have improved greatly, but I haven't tried to do a pistol one for a long time. Thanks for reminding me! Will try tomorrow :)

Great video, thanks for the demonstrations. One tip you might want to pass on is the use of oly/crossfit shoes. If someone already has a pair for oly lifting they can use them for this exercise if they done have great ankle flexibility.

Great video, keep them coming! One question... You mentioned in this video that there are two people groups who will struggle with pistols, one of which was the reduced ankle mobility group. You didn't reveal who the other group was! I assume it's those with tight hamstrings?

I am not dogging on the movement, but on squats, isn't it terrible for your knees to have them out in front of your ankles?

Long femur guys like me will have hard time doing this exercise, ancle mobility is not the problem.

If anyone is almost there to performing a pistol squat, but have a difficult time due to balance issues, try out my variation on my channel. It helped me to eventually do a one legged squat.

Adding the heel on plate near the end of the video...WHy not learn to do a proper low squat instead of doing an exercise you cannot properly do and throwing off your form and training your body to do it incorrectly. And add more weight or chains on your neck: wow. Scary. This guy is a good salesman...

This exercise would be ideal if god gave us 1 leg instead of 2, why put so much strain on one knee unless your looking to bust it up, worst idea ever, why not put weight on the bar and use 2 legs.
@Ibrinator2310 жыл бұрын
Because when you, like he said, have little weight and you want a good leg workout this is what you do. Pistols are good for people who want to only train with body weight as well.
@AJPemberton10 жыл бұрын
So you only jump to get around ? I usually find walking , running and biking involves loading one leg then the other. If 'god' meant us to use both legs at the same time , why didn't he make us kangaroos ? ;-)
