it makes no sense to me just feel it in my back
@ClearOutSamskaras4 күн бұрын
@@alalal123421 Stand with a broom stick against your back, with its top reaching just a bit above where the back ends and the neck begins. Now hinge at the hip. As you hinge the points of contact with the broom in standing position should be the exact same as when you hinge. If those points of contact change from your standing position, you are not doing it right. Arguably he missed one thing in his description of the hinge: not only are you tilting the pelvis forward but you are also pushing your ass backward (though not too much) as you hinge. "Pushing" may be too aggressive a verb, "bringing" the ass backward might be a better way of thinking about it. The key is do not just think about your hip, also think about your ass moving backward in space to some degree. If you are doing it correctly you will not feel a thing in your lower back. Your glutes and hamstrings alone will be loaded.

That this channel has not 20x more subscribers is a shame and says a lot where most gym people focus on - amount of plates on the bar instead of proper form. I was one of them in the past when I was much younger. Once I started to focus on proper form with my DL and my squats I had to drop the plates on the bar by a lot! Bad for my ego but quintessential for the health of my lower back… Thx a lot Jack for these outstanding explanations of proper form
