Baking is not a proper solution.

I figured I would try it. My thoughts are, it wasn’t being used enough and when I baked it. heated the soldering which made it work again. The flu hasn’t had any issues since then.

@@Djvids-k6b As long as it is working that is fantastic - the only thing is we find that the boards which have had been baked or had other attempts such as reflow completely end up dead and we have no way of bringing them back even with this mod! Several years ago we would do similar attempts - but because we 100% guarantee all our work it was inconsistent and we could not warranty those jobs! The issue is actually often misdiagnosed - the problem is with the chips lower layer silicone and not the solder joints - reheat methods are a hit and miss.

@@gadgetfix8077 i bet many people have done it before and have had it permanently fixed. It was in there for 7 minutes at 375. Also computers get that hot on there own. i do not think my unit is broken from baking it. I did it one time.

I just revisited this video, it makes me wanna to repair mine too :). I'd like to know how you flash the EFI-chip or is there a way that I can buy modified EFIs from you. I've got 2 MBP 15" 2011 (one 'early with an i7 2,0' and one 'late with i7 2,2 ghz') and they both are dead on the dedicated GPU. So a suggestion for how I could get these machines to work will be much appreciated! Thank you if you can reply me here!

What i do is i take out the motherboard snd the heatsink i get like a heatgun to heat both the processor and the graphics card and put it all back together and it was working but one day it just randomly restarted and i got the lines so i shut it down wait like 10 seconds and turn it back on and it worked!

I also have the same problem with my late 2011 MacBookPro 15” (model A1286). I had the logic board (Graphics card/GPU failure) replaced in 2016 By Apple Store and failed again 3 weeks ago. One other issue is intermittent loose USB connection which may require checking. If you charge similar repair price as advised to Poptn2nd below, I will consider having you investigate/repair it asap. Please advise company link for shop address? I will drop by if you guys are in Melbourne. Thanks. PS: I also had my hard drive replaced/upgraded in 2017 so it been running okay until now!

after 2 weeks of messing around with my broken Macbook 15 (early 2013) screen would go blank after login couldn't enter safe mode, because SDD encrypted screen would go blank before login on bootcamp windows 10, no safe mode possible either = > after research it seems that the discrete Nvidea GPU is dead, a problem that Apple managed to migrate through 3 generations of macbook pros and several MacBooks and MacBooks Air. Quite an achievement. since I don't want to solder around, missed the repair programme, because Apple screwed me over by never telling me about it or pay 100s of $ for repairs or DEFINITELY not get a new computer (least another macbook) try this: solution (for me anyway): 1. Enter recovery mode after booting with cmd-R 2. enter Terminal $ csrutil disable $ nvram boot-args=”nv_disable=1” $ csrutil enable $ reboot 3. that's it. in more detail: my macbook (15 retina, early 2013) has an encrypted HD (so I can't start in safe mode or single-user mode) and it went black right after I logged in, so no chance of installing the gfxcardstatus app everyone is raving about. But this works, and takes only 5 minutes. tried several re-starts, still works, loosing brightness control f1-f2 and restart on clamp-close apparently, but what the ****, I can use my computer again. Same problem with my bootcamp windows 10 partition, screen went blank even before login and couldn't enter safe mode, so had to re-install from USB stick, and de-activate Nvida in the device manager and re-built system from there manually, as soon as I would install the correct Nvidea driver, screen would go blank again. (enter safe mode, de-activate Nvidea, rinse, repeat...)

When did you talk about that or show how you installed it? Is that part of the video problem you address in this video? And at the end you show two yellow-green wires that you apparently installed. 👎🏻! На канале Louis Rossman объясняется, сам кристал не умирает. Достаточно перенакатить шары более тугоплавким припоем и проблема перманентно решается с полноценно работающей видео картой AMD.
