I appreciate you stopping by! I know when I was looking around when I first started, there was only one person discussing it. Thought I could provide some good input with more experience under my belt! 📸

I use the auto sports mode on my camera typically because the other settings make my photos barely visible (even with high WB and ISO).
@FatalOnion8 ай бұрын
If that’s the mode that works well for you, keep using it! I personally haven’t had an auto sport mode on any of my cameras but was taught early on to shoot manual for learning how the settings work. I still miss my exposure from time to time but it’s a learning process!

Should i hold the back-button focus down throughout the time I'm taking the pictures or should i focus once then release and let the "servo" setting take over in order to keep the runner/ player in focus as i photograph him down the track?
@FatalOnion10 ай бұрын
I don’t use back button focus when shooting. I just use the regular shutter focus option. May not be the best idea as I’ve heard a lot of pros using back button focus. Anyway, if you’re focusing on one specific runner, then holding focus on them running down the track would be a good idea. Then, you can get a good sequence of that runner. If you let go of the focus, you may miss that shot you’re aiming for. I know that’s happened to me plenty of times where I let go and it locks on to the track instead of the runners or it locks onto someone in the backfield, etc. you can obviously play around with whichever button focus layout you’d like and judge which method you prefer. I hope that helps answer your question!

Where do you post your photos?
@FatalOnion9 ай бұрын
I post all my photos to an online gallery with Pixieset. You’re able to sell prints and digitals or provide free downloads from the site. I personally like it more than Smugmug, an old online gallery I used to use, as it’s more up to date with UI. If you’re interested in checking it out, I do have a referral link in the description. Otherwise, just go to Pixieset.com. Thank you for stopping by, Justin!

This is what's wrong with photography podcasts...don't tell me - show me. 2/10.

Uh, this isn’t a podcast… 😅

I do apologize for not being able to help you, though. The time of recording this, there was no track and field meets. Plus, I wouldn’t have felt comfortable enough to actually be doing a live rundown of how I am covering the events. I tried to express how to do it the best I could.
