Ok, i'm having some issues. I have a 176, and it seems that i can only get it to unlock if i have the first two numbers dialed to the correct combo. I can then get the pick between those two dials and unlock it. Any help?

few locks have the opening required in this video. On the table you have a variety of locks. The one you demonstrated on had a gap opening. That design flaw has been corrected and current combo locks DO NOT have that gap.

Master Locks, waste of money. Their materials are generally top notch, but the problem exists with how precise they actually are. Cheap China locks are so sloppy that sometimes its own key won't open it, but on the other hand, the materials used are junk and can be broken easily.
