This was so beautiful, our dearest siblings. Thank you. I had an olive grove once - absolutely delicious olive oil - thank you, Jesus, for olive oil! I know the hard work keeping them healthy and fruitful, ouch those sharp pokes! So glad your father Suhail was safe - loved watching him sit in the tree drinking and thanking God. Your mother Ruthie, brother George and soon-to-be sis-in-law Erika - precious..... hugs to all of you, HAPPY BIRTHDAY AGAIN, SERGIO! (baby sister too!) and God bless you all and keep you all safe - shalom, love! - your sister in calif

What a lovely family and they all come together to prune the olive tree and gather olives! I learned so much (and so did Sergio ha ha). I never knew the difference between the green and the black olives now I do and interesting the preparation it takes and you cannot eat from the tree as Sergio found out! I can only imagine the bitterness Sergio!! Love you guys! Thank you for inviting us into your family home!

I love olives--mostly green! I think it is because I am of Hebrew descent--the priestly tribe. This was so good to learn about the picking and pickling of the beautiful olive. Olive tree very pretty and the olive flower is sweet, but the fruit of the poor olive is impossible to eat! Jewish folk song, no?

I am searching ways of cultuvating olive trees in my yard. I live in Brazil and the best adapted species was the israeli one, but we have to fertalize it the whole year. Because of the great amount of Sun light, they produced very much and dry, if not fertalized. My name os Tatiana de Oliveira, something like Tatiana of the Olive Tree. God bless you for answering tô His call and work to spread His kingdom among the world. Have nice holidays.

Good afternoon / evening! I guess you've never seen how they harvest oranges, they use a special machine. Could you tell me how long olives will keep after they are cured? Lovely family!
@RhodaVoitenko7 жыл бұрын
Hi BigBrokeBill (We would like to know your name, but we respect your privacy if you choose not to). I personally haven't seen how oranges are harvested! We have one orange tree that we pick by hand, and try to water it well. About the olives it depends, for the green ones, if they are uncrushed, you pressure store them, and they should stay like that for about a year. But, if you crush or slice them and change the water on them, then minimum 10 days. As for the black, they have a different marination process, and they stay stored for a couple of months.
@BigBrokeBill7 жыл бұрын
Here's a video off of KZbin to show how rough and damaging the current harvesting practices are: kzbin.info/www/bejne/hKqsZ2CggK6ZpdE

Wow! Both ways are really cool, I mean for someone to think of automating the whole process like that, but I also can see how this can harm the trees. We also just saw a mass harvest machine for olives one youtube video that I haven't seen before, very similar to the orange one.

@SnR6 жыл бұрын
Hi jfredq, so what we had wasn't?
@jfredq6 жыл бұрын
A machete has a straight blade- it's basically a large, heavy sword-like knife that is used for chopping. What you have in the video is a pruning saw- it has a lighter toothed blade that cuts by sawing.

Rhoda when i was a kid i decided one day to make fried eggs with Labneh and zaatar then my brothers and sister liked it and once in a while they used to make it themselves , attention do not use Lebanese Zaatar the Syrian army buried pcb barrels in the mountain surroundings the Christian sides the pcb is leaking in the ground
