I got a question about Tags it always says I'm streaming the wrong thing and when I update the stream it doesn't do anything. Is it because I started streaming or because of a Twitch website related error.

My tip would be. Don't discuss who to mod while on stream. Send a private message asking if they would like to be mod and what you need from them as a mod. Then do not mod them until after stream session or if they tell you they are leaving for the day. That way it prevents butthurt-i-ness. Exception to this would be if you have no mods and are having consistent issues and need help now.

Video idea: How to handle coming back from a hiatus. Should it be treated with fanfare as an event , or should you just start back up like it's no big deal? As a moderator in a lot of channels, i really appreciate this! I sent this Video to some streamers who just randomly promotes mods, And i agree to the saying- People who supports and give Money to the streamer doesn't qualify them to be a moderator. Cause i do believe being a mod takes time, Learning and experience, And also thats why we have the VIP roles to the people who supports. Now Im Not saying that the People who supports CANNOT be a moderator, Ofc there are people who will support you and knows about twitch more than you do, then Those people are the mods you should Pick. I had the advantage of being on twitch for years and developing friendships that i was able to select my mods before I started streaming. So far it has worked out great because I know these people were going to be supportive out of the gate. Will be interesting when it comes time to choosing another mod that isn't from my twitch circle and is from my own organic growth. I think VIP has been more tough to navigate. Everyone seems to want that status and if you name one someone else wonders why they didn't get it as well.

This is 100% gold, best vid you have! Seriously, A+. I was thinking about my mod criteria before watching the vid and you hit pretty much all of them and a couple extras. All except one of my mods are fellow streamers, and the one exception had experience modding another channel before. A couple things I'd add are: consider timezones, if you stream at a variety of times or odd hours, consider having mods that can cover different timezones. One streamer I mod for was in the US but had mostly UK mods, so when they moved to evening streams, they had to get a "night shift" mod crew. Also, different mods will have different strengths. Some are really fast with banning and reporting trolls, some make really good commands, some go the extra mile to make everyone feel welcome. When considering adding a new mod, look at what areas your team needs extra support in and pick accordingly.

Hi wild! Thank you for the video 😁 I've had the same moderator for a while (6months?) He has been great, I always am sure to thank him for all he does, he has been a constant in my streams and has worked so hard. He is always the first in the stream and the last to leave, and I make sure to give him a special shout out every single time. All has been well until a week or so ago. Recently, whenever another particular streamer stops by my streams, he doesnt stay long but we chat for a moment before he has to go do whatever. My moderator will DM me on twitter to tell me how unappreciated he feels because he can see and hear how different I react to this other person. The first time he told me this, I tried harder, put a bigger smile on my face and was sure to dote on him a little more than usual. But then last night he messaged me again saying how depressed he was because I had greeting another person in my chat so enthusiastically. Im one to give people I care about second and third chances, especially when their track record is pretty good, but I also have enough life experience to know when someone is trying to manipulate me, and I believe that might be the case here. I thought about what he said, and in a firm but professional way I basically told him that im sorry he feels that way, I try to make him feel part of my streams, and that I enjoy his company but if moderating my streams makes him feel that way, then he needs to take a step back and take a break, which I told him is completely fine and normal, but if he continues this behavior he may lose his moderator status on my channel. I really dont want to revoke this from him, but I also dont want someone trying to make me feel bad over getting excited to see people come in and out of my streams. He was also upset that I got so excited over my new alerts. Sorry for the length, but this has kind of been weighing on me all day (I've been at work so that doubly sucks). If you've had time to read this, how would you have handled it?

Shortly after I commented this, the same mod followed me to someone else's stream and basically lurked while I chatted (I didnt know he was there at first), and DMd me constantly on insta and twitter and twitch. I ignored him, didnt even open the messages knowing that I have every right to ignore someone who is DMing me every few minutes for hours...until he found my personal facebook (which I dont have listed anywhere), and started DMing me there. I removed him as mod and blocked him from everything. A few weeks later, 90% of our mutuals had removed and blocked me without asking what was going on, and I was never able to explain things to them. Since then i havent had the same volume of viewers in my streams so I gave up lol

Considering the last message you sent as an update to the situation: you made the right choice in giving the situation time to see if it resolved itself but most definitely picked the right choice in blocking unmodding and removing yourself from this person and situation. It seems clear that they became obsessive and controlling almost like a significant other and attempted to abuse power and control your actions. It seems this mod had an influence on your stream averages and viewers and losing that community is deterring you from continuing to stream but as disappointing as it may be don’t let it get to you and be the deciding factor in giving up! Because than this moderator wins in controlling your stream life and actions... you can regain a community/ viewership and find new trusted mods and viewers that will continue to network and support you! You did it once so you can do it again despite the effort needed! (Side note: I gave up streaming and have focused on content creation coaching fps and moderating for twitch and discord users and communities. I’m sorry to self promote but if you need a volunteer moderator to help restart or continue your progress I’m available and eager to help new/ returning streamers in any way including modding and would be happy to assist.) otherwise don’t give up! It’s a small bump on the road but clearly you have the talent personality attitude and skill to grow your streaming or art career! Foot off the brake and step on the gas to jumpstart your passion!

hello, ive seemed to have found a bit of an issue in my stream with mods......i have moded people that have been supporting and helping my channel to grow but ive started having an issue of my mods not showing up without telling me (and i always tell my mods to communicate with me , if they cant make it) but the weird thing is i made them mod because they were consistently in my stream.......also another issue is i have a mod, probably my only mod who is in my streams all the time supporting and being there + doing her job as a mod but she gets too emotional and often is too aggressive with her time-outs and bans......ive taken the time to tell her she needs to be more level headed with these decisions but i dont feel that she truly can contain her emotions when being a mod...i even had in the past couple of streams, my mods making big mistakes one typed "simp" in my chat and another said "fag" and "virgin" in my stream (they both did said it was by accident, i also deleted the VODS)...overall i feel like im having to baby my mods and am finding it difficult to figure out what to do........due to the fact my channel is growing rapidly, i cant let this get any worse.....was hoping to just get some help or perspective on how to deal with this.

hey man i have a gaming pc and only one monitor and i do stream on it. whenever i wanna see that someone tune in to stream i have to switch from my game to obs. sometimes people come in chat and say something i miss their message and i read their message after 10-15 minutes after they leave my chat. i have a windows laptop and mcbook pro so is there any way that i can connect my laptop or mc to my gaming pc and run my obs on laptop or mcbook pro while streaming games?? please help me i couldn't find any solution.

Twitch mods needed you must be experienced and be a mod on another stream that way i can have a good background check on you and see how you work. Im a farely new streamer im getting a good 50 regular viewers a night ive had my fair share of trolls and abusive mods whos been banning my viewers just because they didnt agree with them even if you only mod for me a few weeks to help train less experienced mods i would be forever grateful i dont want to advertise my twitch on this guys channel i have no pemission but im not hard to find get in touch

Wild4Games How do I report a moderator who is bullying in the chats? I occasionally moderate voluntarily for a few favorite channels or a random stream I come across since I'm a fast typer & translate to 20 languages. Nightbot was in 4 streams that I happened to be in tonight, which is not common. I usually may be in 1 a month. After all, I do have my own channel to populate. He made remarks like "no foreign languages, english only!" "no talk about current events!" I've been in MANY live streams & never ran into one as anal as this. I could not find his channel to report him. By the 3rd chat, I started reporting him for bullying & spam just to get him out of there. I do report for these kinds of remarks, especially when I feel it's looking like a man trying to pick up girls. "How old are you?" "What do you want to do tonight?" "Are you alone?" "Biden is a devil", "Trump is a demon", "this is the most boring stream" over & over, "only n--s are good", "we should charge the capitol", etc. I feel like I have a good idea of what isn't acceptable. I had to actually ask in 1 chat "do you allow people from other countries on your chat? foreign languages?" Because, here again, was this anal Nightbot. He finally stopped the chat on the last one right before I found your video. I was searching for "how to report bullying moderators". I copied the entire chat & saved it in my email. I plan to notify the channels he was on about his methods. He is driving viewers off of those channels & each one was monetized. I'm not. I never intend to be. Thanks!

I'm not sure if this is a joke but Nightbot is an automated chat moderation tool. So Nightbot is set up by streamers to moderate their chats for them. You will not be able to report an approved bot. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching!

@@Wild4 Oh, yes, this is an OLD comment & no, I wasn't joking. I already emailed some channel owners & they explained that. I was told that some channel owners don't really know how to set up the Nightbots, they just turn them on with the defaults. I will never use them on my channel, so I never looked into them.
