sorry to hear. usually if u have no other pointers, smell for a great amount of quality aroma up close to the fruit. for mangos its the smell and being very very slightly soft to a squeeze. any bruises will give u dark and mushy fruit flesh. best of luck

Also depends when you wanna eat the mango if immediately then you'll want to put a bit of pressure on the mango if you can squish it is ripe

for apples, flip them over, theres a star shaped gap at the bottom, the larger the gap the sweeter the apple. for mangoes, the wider the stem the sweeter. for watermelon you cant really tell but my mum taught me to pick the ones with a large yellow spot. i cant really think of anymore fruits but yeah 👍

Do you guys have a recipe for fried gluten balls ? Not the balls themselves, I usually buy them at my Asian supermarket, but for the filling and how to cook them. They have become a staple that I buy whenever I'm at the Asian supermarket and I would love to see how your Dad cooks them

prob similar concept. if it sounds hollow, the water content isn't there and it's not as juicy. think of slapping a milk jug or gallon jug of water.

Well, if it's the vendor slapping YOU it means you treated his produce badly 🤣😁 I seriously think it's all a bit of showmanship - and yes, I'd LOVE watermelon buying tips. True story - farmers market, end of trading, 1 watermelon left, really big one with a little 'pyramid' cut out to show the juicy insides, farmer was asking an absolute BARGAIN price, he just wanted to go home. Shopper INSISTED on an extra 50cents off due to the missing small chunk. The shopper kept arguing, the farmer finally got angry and put it aside and said he wouldn't sell it to the guy for 3 times the price! I was cheering for the farmer - they work hard and deserve to be treated with respect, as does their produce!
