Great video. Coaches take notice of how well conditioned the coach is. He is talking a lot and demonstrating and he is not even breathing hard. I think this adds quality to his teaching session.

Great teaching...works unfirtunately only if people know how to play basketball...most of the amateur and hobby ballers defends like playing american football or regular football...holding you while running, or sticking like glue to you, moving screens non-stop etc.

I like the slide by finish example, no KZbin coaches go into anymore detail than your basic eurostep/hopstep/basic contact layup which most players have no context to use to translate them into a game. I doubt I’m speaking only for myself but a video focussed on different types of contact and angles/upper body techniques for help side defence would actually make videos applicable. I only decided to comment this on your page because your videos are by far the best coaching videos I’ve seen on KZbin and believe me I’ve looked far and wide. Good job man

Cardio. Run the guy to death, run him thru screens, run him across court.
@b3trainingkc6015 жыл бұрын
@@thomassmith8159 He means one on one with the ball in your hands. Plus, running your man to death in the halfcourt offense is often not an option for high school players because the offense your team is running doesn't give you the freedom off ball to be doing that. Many offenses are way too structured
@thomassmith81595 жыл бұрын

I'd recommend just practicing step backs or creating space, if you want to shoot in a 1 on 1 scenario it's hard especially if they defender knows you want to shoot
@kennethmataya80355 жыл бұрын
Then do what carmelo anthony always does Triple threat position then read the defender Defender is close - Drive to the rim Defender gives (even little) space - shoot Defender is upfront - pumpfake/jab If he bites on pumpfake - drive If he bites on jab - shoot If he still doesn't bite try again or use dribble moves to create Watch By any means basketball's analysis on Carmelo Anthony I believe that it will help you greatly regarding your playstyle

@MrUlee5 жыл бұрын
Tricks For Days 33 get a pull up midrange or at least something off the dribble. A zone almost always leaves open a midrange shot. If you make enough you’ll force the defenders to break the zone to contest you or the coach will have them play man.
@jamesbycinthe5 жыл бұрын
Besides the other points made, another thing that helps is attacking on the catch. Even a subpar spot up shooter can take advantage of this cuz the defense is naturally inclined to shift on the pass and whatever distance they playing u will almost not matter if u attack correctly. This is more effective from the wings or middle as opposed to the corners cuz a smart defense can sag a bit and use the baseline as an extra defender.
@charlesjackson34334 жыл бұрын
Run hard when transitioning from defense to offense. Push the ball up to players ahead of you then look for opportunities to do all of the above mentioned things.

Hesi between the legs like in the video. You dont have to be faster, the hesi allows you to read the defender while in motion. Ex, you hesi and he bites, go by. You hesi and he doesn't bite, you pullup. You hesi, blow by but he recovers, stepback.
