True, like it's unrealistic for students to visualize what's perfect for them in the far future when they are evolving day to day. You meet new people, learn new things, and become tired of some stuff while becoming interested in other things. That's why life progress is really about taking a bunch of small steps and reflecting as you go to see what feels right for you XD

I figured out what I wanted to for the rest of my life when I was 14, it's not what people would call a sustainable or good job, but I love to do it and I think that is all that matters

Simple .. Detox pseudo dopamine Avoid completely high dopamine activities Do only that which need your effort...that is real dopamine activities..15-20 days (no content other than goal orientated) Simultaneously Meditate in front of your higher concious ( lord) Focus mindful meditation.. Visualisation Affirmation say I m close to my life purpose .. Prayer to lord to show it to u .. Visualize u getting energy to higher consciousness depper and deeper Question frequently about what u desire to know or do .. That's all after my personal experience to know my existential crierces.. It's all from insight ..not from any book or videos

On your channel, I've noticed that you emphasize that learning isn't linear, and I'm so glad to see that concept applied to finding your ideal profession. I have never heard of the Ikigai framework before, but I'll be sure to print it out and refer back to it throughout my life. Thanks, Justin.

Very true, and even within the four categories, it's not always black and white. You can love some parts of your job but also hate others. That's because there is no such thing as a perfect job.

It's really interesting that I haven't found another creator who resonates as much as you do. The topics that you cover and the way that you explain things immediately clicks for me and hits on the exact things that I was confused about before. Anyway, I now know why my previous career wasn't a good fit. Thanks!

Glad I found this. My best skills & passions are history & the arts.I’ve been trying to become a history teacher but I’m an introvert. So it’s like, is this going to work?🤔but I do get excited teaching people but I haven’t done a classroom yet. I’m going to try a public speaking class.& debt is scary especially if u realize u picked the wrong career

Love the twist you made at the end Justin, I've read Ikigai myself (would recommend it, pretty interesting read) and what struck out to me is that I wanted to do something which I wasn't good at since it's a place for me to grow and learn more about myself. So I choose physics, the subject which I was worst at, and at the moment it's the right choice. However I've been feeling anxious about getting money from it, I'm trying to get more skills which can help with that aspect but it still felt uncertain. This video helped easy that anxiety a lot, I guess it's like peeling a new layer back of yourself with each experience you have in a sense. Then constantly aligning your life with these experiences and molding responsibilities to fit with each stage of your life.

I have to admit I'm guilty of choosing my college degree because of some anime I've watched when I was in high school lol. But even after getting a taste of the "behind the scenes" of my dream, I still feel like it's the right path for me (tho not in the same level of passion as my ignorant young self once had)

This may be for those with a lot of options, like maybe they have no problem paying for an education without going into deep debt. Most people have to settle for whatever job they can get to pay the bills. Capitalism is not designed for personal fulfillment, it's designed to hurt you.

< What I recommend instead is to separate your money from your love. Get the most low-stress source of income that you can find, and then do exactly what you love for free. It might eventually make you money or it might not. "Do what you love and the money will follow" is mostly false. The real rule is: "If you're doing what you love, you won't care if you never make any money from it -- but you still need money." > Ran Prieur

and the problem with medicine is that it's very easy to get stuck, as it traps you in a bubble that gives you the impression that you're skill-less outside of medicine. not to mention taking absolutely ages to get through both medical school and postgraduate/specialty training. the longer you're in it, the more trapped you feel.
