I’ve never made diamond blocks. Having watched your excellent video, I feel completely comfortable with the process. Thanks for your making my quilting life easier!

Wonderful! The first time I tried diamonds, years ago, I remember feeling so confused and defeated because I had no idea what I was doing wrong. So with this video I tried to completely demystify diamonds because they're such a fun shape to work with in quilts.

Great explanation for sewing diamonds. I love how you show how NOT to do it. And then show the better and best way.

Whenever someone tells me not to do something I want to know why! 😊 So I figured I'd include the "how not to" with the "how to".

Thank you! I finished the quilt top last week and added a nice wide border. Now I just need to work up some courage to try some free motion quilting!😊

Great idea! Working on Edyta’s Mystery Quilt & could not get seams to match up. Will definitely try this. Do you use a 1/4” seam or scant 1/4” seam?
@jennystrahley927 Жыл бұрын
@@micheletocher9952 I used a lot of pins to get the seams to match up in these blocks in Edyta's Mystery Quilt. I almost always use a scant 1/4" seam. I just saw we get to make some little hexagons this week...Yikes!

The Purple Thang is my favorite notion. I use it for a stiletto, a point turner, and an elastic threader. In home economics class over 50 years ago, we learned to sew straight and curved lines by sewing on pre-drawn lines without thread. There are times I’d like to sew without thread now, but without both top and bottom threads in place, my Berninas will not operate. They think they are “helping” me. I wish I could override that function, but on my machines I can’t.

The Purple Thang is definitely one of my most used notions! It's so simple but it does so many things. I didn't know that about Bernina sewing machines. I wish my machine had a feature that would alert me when I'm low on bobbin thread!
