One of the biggest lies in aquascaping is the planting process is relaxing. My blood pressure skyrockets when they don't stay in the soil or come loose from rocks etc

This is an excellent tutorial but if I can be so humble as to make a request? I know Green Aqua has a few hardscaping tutorials but I feel like it is a skill with fine details and considerations that can be difficult to develop. Can you please create a hardscaping and "Vision to execution" tutorial series for people like me who just struggle to get the foundations right? Pretty please :)
@GreenAquaShop2 жыл бұрын
Welcome to the channel, thanks for the first comment. :) Actually, Tommy has done a hardscape tutorial just last week, you might want to check that out. Also, we spend a considerable amount of time building hardscapes in the different videos, all these can be of a good reference to you - perhaps. But yeah, will do more, I love this topic.

its not maybe as the same level of production as green aqua, but maybe check Pakne Kenzho channel for more complex hardscaping video. not really detailed, but you can see quite the way he scape his tank. its in indonesian though.. buy maybe worth considering..

Before I became disabled, I was a crazed terrestrial gardener…even asked to be a Master Gardner by the state I live in here in the US…not dissimilar from planting in water, but different, of course. I can’t wait for Spring to come and start gardening again. Mini landscape design is so amazing!

I have my green tea and I really need to get me one of those super cool t-shirts that you are modeling so well 🤩 ... Now if only I could only come to Europe 😭🤣♥️ It's amazing what a difference having the right tools especially tweezers can make. Unfortunately mine are an inexpensive brand off of Amazon that don't hold the grip as well as the quality tools that you are using!! It's definitely worth it to invest in quality! I really enjoyed your demonstration on your technique on how you properly prepared and plant the plants! You always teach me so much! Another wonderful tutorial! I hope you and everyone at Green Aqua is having a wonderful and blessed weekend 🙏🌿🐟🌿💚💖

Great video. Thank you. For new Aquascapers the classification of plants with foreground/background etc. must be confusing especially when aquascapers are discussing perspective when they might use taller larger leafed plants in the foreground and smaller, small leafed plants in the background. The more you think about it the current classification of plants is so outdated and unhelpful. Would it be useful for all of the major producers to arrive at a new and more logical system? Having giving it some thought I propose the following: 1. A letter indicating the type of plant. S = stem, C = carpeting, F = floating, E = epiphyte, M = moss. Following the first letter comes 3 other letters indicating the height, spread and leaf size. Although T could be used to indicate tall I would suggest for all of the following categories to stick with small, medium and large. Simpler I think. So you are left with something like S/T/M/M. If these 4 letters were them colour coded green for easy, yellow for medium and red for hard or high tech/high energy you then have a lot of information in the same amount of space as ‘foreground/background’ etc. It would need producers and stores to display a ‘key’ but after sometime I could see something like this being adopted. You could also add up to 3 arrows underneath to indicate speed of growth. One long arrow = slow growing. 2 arrows = average growth and 3 arrows = fast growing. Any thoughts?

Trimming the plant helps the plant use energy for roots first and then the top. The great thing about water plants is that it’s relatively easy to start new plants from cuttings.

When you plant some new kind of plants you can explain how they are planted. Example: I don't know how to replant the cuttings of staurogyne repens, blyxa japonica, pogostemon helferi. These plant are bushy and we cannot easily hold it with tweezers.

@PaulZyCZ2 жыл бұрын
Ceramic substrates (baked clay) are the most difficult to plant I'd say. Not mentioned in the video, but they have their fans. Their main advantage is a double-edged sword: They are porous and light. This means lot of space for nitrification bacteria and easy rooting, despite not having any nutrients on their own. Also parts of it would float for days, they cannot be used in hardscape except the foreground (the substrate lies flat) and planting tweezers are a must. I think they are also cheaper than aquarium (top) soils.
