Today ill be showing you how to plasti dip your wheels , as well as finishing them off with a coat of metalizer for some added flare. its a very simple and easy diy method to make you car stand out.

As an update for anyone thinking about doing this: If you live in a 4 seasons environment, and daily your vehicle, damage will occur to the dip and require preventative maintenance. The rubber loves to pop out of any kickback areas that creates "bubbles" on any wheels that are more high profile. It can be tricky to wash as well, as you need to be somewhat careful. It has been 3 years for me, and 3 of the 4 wheels are under the same spray/clear coat. The 4th had to be redone from tearing, and 2 of the other three now require a full tear out and redo. But that's just my excuse to put a new wheel and tire package on.

This is pretty much my strategy. I’ll use the next few years to save for some really nice tyres and actual black wheels, but while the current tyres have some tread on them, plastidipping them should last fine.

I plastic dipped the rims on my truck and I go on rocky terrain 1 to 2 times a month so the plastic dip tends to peel a lot more since small rock shoot up under the plastic dip and start to peel the dip. If you were thinking about plastic dipping your rims you might want to go with spray paint!

You can use bondo filler. Put it in the scratches and imperfections and then sand it even and you can repaint them.

+Eddie Scorsese yes in person the metalizer looks so much better then matte.. I had matte for 6 months & I prefer the metalizer look, & I used the original metalizer , the silver/black metalizer

OK so the first problem is not removing the wheels off the car and starting from scratch. To really do this job the wheels need to come off as well as the tires. If you notice in the video the horrible spotty coverages in the wheel lugnut slots. Not to mention when you remove the wheel you see how bad the wheel looks with aluma chrome holes from lack of coverage. The old school generation would do this job right and just By-Pass The Whole **MICKEY MOUSE** Car alteration job for the sake of quick cool looks **SAD** Dammit!! Its your ride have some goddam self-pride get off your ass and **DO THE JOB RIGHT**
