Recreating getting from the 7 to the 8 a few times and breaking down each of the lines was a really really nice touch here. It’s nice when other instructors explain to you verbally why to do or why not to do something, but actually seeing what certain decisions look like with your eyes just helps commit them to memory in my opinion.

Very informative Daz, thank you. Concerning the shot on the 7, what are your thoughts about drawing the cue ball to the left hand side long rail (from our point of view) with left spin and go 3 rails for position on the 8 into the top left corner? Thanks

More of this, please! Awesome explanation. Do you think that thinking 3 balls ahead is always enough? Or sometimes there are situations when you have to think about the 4th ball also?

Always look at table , but when start run out scherzo each shot 3 ahead keep it simple and it will make sense you don’t want to clutter your head and get too far ahead of yourself

I would have never seen the path of the 7 ball. Great content and very well explained. Maybe next time you can make sure the balls are set up exactly the same as before, because you put the 7 ball closer to the side pocket than it has been before which made the draw shot more difficult to play.

That shot on the 7 ball, I have a tendency to scratch in what would be upper right corner. Do you play it as more of a punch follow to catch the short rail?

I'm not Darren, but with the speed he hit it, a relatively fast speed, the cue ball stays on the tangent line for a while before the top spin takes. It almost reaches the second diamond before it curves/follows forward. Conversely, if he hit it with a very soft follow he could scratch, and if he hit it really hard even with top spin, I think he may be able to hit the 10.

Great video but wish you tried to get good on the 8 from the 7 by going around the 10, you only showed how it could go wrong but didn't try to do it right. I would have gone 1 rail around the 10 and wonder if it turns out fine.

He can do both but I think what he's trying to say is that the odds of him getting a good shot are higher (for him) the way he played it. So if he tries each shot 100 times he may get a good shot using top left 95 times, and a good shot going around the 10 ball only 85 times. Just as an example.

@@shaunpage4498 I think going around the 10 is actually not hard. It didn't seem like Darren really cared if the hit that shot good when he showed the example. But I do like the way he did get on the eight ball. I will work on that shot.

you're teaching how to play, not how to play 10 ball. I thought you gonna talk about about the rules of 10-ball.
