I actually think he wouldnt be so interested as he is in this video just due to the disparity in the dollar value of guitars vs his vintage watches. His recent Martin siignature edition D-45 guitar is like 20k USD street price, and thats like his highest end guitar, and its nothing in comparison with the $$ value of the watches he's shown on here. Im not even hating but i guess its a financial status thing where you lose interest in something and start seeing it as tools when it becomes disposably cheap relative to your financial status. John is my favourite artist and my all time guitar hero, so im no hater, im just hypothesizing why he wouldnt be so interested about talking guitars from a "collectors" POV

The watch is pretty invisible to the average person, unless you mention a price figure, or if you slap a Rolex badge on there. So to an extent, he's right.

Rich Ross you completely missed the point... honestly

Rich, He’s referring to the fact it’s a much lesser known piece than something like a Daytona. A “sleeper” if you will. Something he can wear and only an aficionado would really notice. Doesn’t matter that it’s half the price of an average house.
