Thanks!!! They are very relaxing to play, too! The way the sound reverberates in such a large flute is amazing also! Walkingstick flutes are of course available on our website BlueBearFlutes.

Thanks for answering my question. I say this with great respect, the opening theme melody really throws me back to an inspirational time in my life. I asked if the wood was as strong as Arnis sticks because I like duality and functionality. thank you- great product and video :)

Hi Charlie, I just watched your video on Native American walking stick Flute. I really enjoyed it....My question is, does it matter what size/diameter the blow hole and the exit hole must be to create beautiful sound? If so, can you share the dimensions and the placement of these blow holes??? Thanks.... Joseph...

I have one of these with a drone on the top end but it gets airy after a while im guessing because of saliva build up. How can you clean one of these? Also the block is a bit loose and that could be it as well any tips?

Hey Ben, good to hear from you again. As usual, I currently have an F# walking stick on hand! We normally make them G, F#, E, Eb, Db and occasionally C. It is always determined by the diameter of the river cane, and the lower the note, of course the larger the cane. Please let me know if you have a specific flute that you need! :)

I'm so happy to have found your channel. I've been watching and really enjoying your videos. Your knowledge on the subject is amazing and you're teaching me a great deal. Is the walking stick flute in this video side blown? Are you blowing air across the opening or directly into it?
@BlueBearFlutes10 жыл бұрын
By Blowing into it directly. Much easier than blowing across! Thanks for watching :)

Hi, Charlie! So, am I to understand that although it's held sideways like other transverse flutes, you are not blowing ACROSS the embouchure hole like other transverse flutes, but rather you are blowing directly into the embouchure hole, like you would the mouthpiece on vertical flutes?

This particular flute is hollow naturally aside from the natural partitions inside. As for a hardwood walking stick, they are basically made the same way all of our other hardwood flutes are made by splitting them and routing them out. If you have any other questions please feel free to contact me.

Charlie, your walking stick flute looks awesome but it wouldn't work for me as a southpaw. I personally prefer the end blown walking stick flute for obvious reasons.
