Also, could you talk a bit more about the particular matchups you run into, for example: which pair is stronger 2v2, how does the matchup naturally go, counters etc.

depends on the matchup fleet for poke conq for long fights pta for burst if you lose lane go galeforce/kraken > bt > ie if you win play galeforce/kraken > ie > bt

I'm here learning Aphelios for when he's eventually released in Wild Rift lmao. He is a lot simpler than I thought. I like to call him in Yu-Gi-Oh terms, the Pendulum deck from League of Legends; daunting at first but actually very straightforward.

Just one simple question, why not run Fleetfootwork or Lethal tempo instead of Conqueror? I feel like they would've get more easily proc'ed

This video is quite old! I have a new Aphelios series here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/p3PTk6B8eJd9hrM These days I usually switch quite a lot between Fleet, PTA and Conqueror. Fleet is typically my most used. I don't remember why I was mostly using Conqueror back then, but it might have just been my personal preference since I enjoy the theme of the rune (best scaling and impact in skirmishes).

I think more buffs would be nice, but pro play is an issue since it'll just make him OP there. But for solo queue he needs buffs for sure.

Aphelios is only viable if you are good with him and/or have a sup you can duo with. There are other adcs rn you are better of playing if you want to climb for example jinx

Maybe with this build, if it makes him independent enough. Need to test that more. Otherwise, no, he's awful. You can play him for fun, but don't expect him to be a good choice for climbing.

Still has a 10% pickrate on Aphelios in 13.7 and its his highest winrate 1st item. I think it was mostly a placebo nerf, it's still almost just as effective.

How good he is is proportional to how much you play him and how much you know him. If you have more than 200 games on him and a decent knowledge of what to do, then he is insanely strong in any elo. If you dont have that then your results will be more mediocre. Someone like Jinx is easier to play and easier to climb well with, but Aphelios is decent in general i would say.
