Berukai considering the varient rules that came out of UA I’m guessing you are correct with 5.5 edition. Bigger newer players handbook with updated ranger, varient rules for classes, maybe some additional races to play as, many lists, additional starting equipment, etc. etc.. which to be honest I’m super down for. We deadass had a Goblin Alchemist (different source, home brew book player bough, really similar though) who was in the fight defeating Hallister in Mad Mage. He was a goblin who survived our blender on the first floor and he roped into joining. In our game, he eventually built a stone Golem, fed potions into a furnace on its back. He used a SUPER rusty kit for injecting potions into the party, but had a pristine clean one for himself and would always be described as injecting stuff in the most horrendous ways possible, especially his healing potions. He would only ever say "BOOM" outside of Goblin. He, in our group's canon, made AI and teamed up with a wizard of invention (homebrew) from a previous campaign. And invented the Warforged in our current magitek/Final Fantasy campaign.

I personally love the 2019 artificer. I can do so much with it, its honestly terrifying. I've turned my gnome into a miniature Iron Man and its hilarious. First 2 levels of artificer, 2 levels of Wizard School of Invention, and take all subsequent levels in artificer for the rest of the game. Add that to the Rock Gnome's natural talents, and you have someone who can use over half the tool kits in game to do just about anything, you get a set of magic studded letter (from school of invention), and all of the other Artificer bonuses. You ARE your party's utility member, able to fix up and enchant gear on top of your Subclass specialization. Cosmo the Wonder Gnome's personal goal is to build and continue upgrading an actual gun powered by magic called "the Arcane Magnum" using an old busted hand crossbow as the baseline. I use it to flavor a lot of abilities, like the cantrip attacks being special ammo, an Arcane Missile Salvo, even simpler things like the cantrip "gust" being a blast of compressed air. Artificer is SO MUCH FUN, I absolutely love it.

Dear god, I cringe whenever he says arTIficer. EDIT: Allow me to clear up something. My ears pick some of the smallest differences in the speech patterns of other people. Because of this, when I hear something said in a way that is different from how I learned to say it, it actually makes me uncomfortable, to point where I actually do cringe a bit. As I learned it, artificer, artifact, and artifice all have total soft emphasis (I.E. ar-ti-fi-cer, ar-ti-fact, or ar-ti-fice). I know he's pronouncing it correctly. Is the official class coming out in a new book?
@Awoken05 жыл бұрын
Yes, in Eberron Rising From The Last War,on the 19th.
@Korren11255 жыл бұрын
Yeah, it's coming out in Eberron in a few days. It is still an official class though and is recommended to use in every setting by Jeremy Crawford, who made it.

Do a version of this with races! You could talk in depth about their history and personalities, about what classes they would be good at, or unique combinations that would suit the classes in a unique way. Something on the lines of a lizard folk sorcerer since they don’t have many “emotions” but personality and charisma is really important in sorcery. Another cool thing is talking about how to role-play the races better
