I can’t even handle this campaign on normal difficulty let alone legendary. This is easily the hardest campaign I’ve played so far in this game. Ironically, playing as Sylvania was the easiest and going against them as Gelt is the bane of my existence. Vlad’s unstoppable wave of vampiric doom just keeps steamrolling my pathetic human army. I miss having non-routing armies and Chad von Carstein the tank as my legendary lord.

Vampire Counts were always a steamroller faction. I like the empire unit roster a little more though even though they lack the staying power that the vampire counts units have I like having the musketeers and the artillery units, for cavalry they also get easier access to good units it takes a while to gain access to blood knights with the VC and they are pretty damn expensive. I bet we are going to get some more DLC units for the empire we are still missing alot of units and legendary lords/heroes I hope they add some of their cooler stuff like the hammer heavy armored foot infantry, long rifle snipers, cult of ulric units, and characters like Luthor Huss. The empire really needs another strong duellist character to go up against the new chaos threats and Luthor could be implemented as a really great duelist character with good buffs he'd be like Volkmar but more combat focused.

I think I've tried 10 times so far on Leg/VH and have continued to fail by getting stomped on by Vlad lol. With all of mine, he's dealt with all the vampires well before I get there. And i even copied your exact plays up to that point. I tried setting him up with ambush, and it worked, except he sent 3 armies. So I could only ambush one then the fight on open field against Vlad. I'm trying to get that achievement before he becomes easy 😤

I just recently got total war 3 warhammer, I really want to play balthest cause of his magic and range specialty. However been frustrated of how to build momentum for late game. I love thier artillery and steam tanks! ❤

I wonder how or when they are going to fix this imperial authority system. So far all you get are a bunch of weak squabbling factions that can't even protect their own borders and won't even allow you to help them protect themselves. I guess it's a Karl Franz simulator though I guess this is what he goes through in lore but for the game it's just not fun. You should be able to put the hammer down on these idiots and force them to work together for the greater good. Vlad is a serious problem in this campaign if he isn't taken out early even when I make a beeline straight to Sylvania it took me till turn 35 before I finally annihilated the VC. His early game army just shreds through the empire early game stuff with his vargheists and grave guards. Archers do literally nothing to Vlad or Isabella and I've had battles where I've destroyed his army but him and Isabella are just invincible and won't route and they will take on like 8 units of archers or crossbows by themselves and win.

i went straight to wissenland and took over that province. didnt take any diplo penalties and had a 4 city region that was one of my biggest income generators
