Kemper, a really good video. The quality of production, your audio and the clarity of your speech made it a pleasure to watch. The resume of the actual events before showing the game enhanced the viewing experience. Two quick points, rail travel is only four hex’s, the benefit is that those units get to move twice and can enter a forest for only on movement point. There are a finite number of units available for replacement and instead of deleting a destroyed unit it is dragged to the edge of the map to join the replacement pool. It is possible for the Russians to have no replacements at the edge of the map for a turn if they play well and can only use replacement points to bring reduced units to full strength. You used the print and play Vassal module. Since then the designer Frank Chadwick with Victory Point Games released a second version which reduced the replacement units from three to two and removed a column or two of hex’s from the eastern side of the map. There is a Vassal module which uses the VP map and another the C3i map, which play identically, the latter also includes the expansion set. Both modules have a holding area to which units are sent when destroyed ready to come back as replacements. The C3i game is available in their magazine which is available as a free download from paxsims.wordpress.com/2020/03/14/free-issue-of-c3i-m... so anyone can make a print and play of the second version. Since B4M Frank Chadwick has developed his ETO system (European Theater of Operations) of which Thunder in the East is the first game in the series. This is a big and more complex game but there is now B4M II which uses part of TitE map and some of ETO rules to make a playable but not complex game. A new B4M II Vassal module is due to be uploaded, hopefully before the end of the month. A video of this game has yet to be made, could you be the first?

Wow Alex, thanks for the very kind words.I really appreciate it. I've enjoyed making game videos (it's challenging but fun). I've always worried that my sound isn't too hot on the videos (I've got a really cheap mike, weird voice, etc). so to hear good things about it means alot. Also thanks for clearing up the replacement and rail travel rules, that balances out the game a lot better (I've only seen 1 German victory since playing the way that I do). I found the new rules and am looking forward to the new Vassal module. Battle For Moscow is one of my favorite games!

Thanks for your video, a great help to understand the game. Q: On 20:06 you moved the german unit at 0204 to 0303. This is a move Inside the ZOC of soviet unit at 0303. Isn't this ilegal ? If I understand the rules you must stop on entering a zone of control or alternatively leave it, but not move through it except if its a same side unit. Am I wrong? Looking forward to hear from you.

Yes, you are correct, went back and watched it and it is totally a mistake on my part. Good catch! When I get to playing these I sometimes (often) get caught up in the moment and make mistakes ;-) . Also thank you very, very much for the kind comments, glad to know it helps. I'm having a good time making these videos.
