I've noticed that lately many tutorial channels have released lessons on Big Love. Really warms my heart seeing Lindsey Buckingham's INSANE live version getting loved more and more over time. Lindsay Buckingham is insane, he's so good. He basically invented his own style of guitar playing, and it's so difficult to play like him because you have to forget a lot of what you already know

@James Tudor No regrets, it's going to be a slow burner for me as I'm OK at picking but not great at travis picking - actually find the constant thumb suits me a bit better. If you can get Never Going Back I'm sure you'll get Big Love, go for it.

I find for the chorus if you sing (even in your head) the words. "Lookin out for love, big big love" part. It actually really helps. It sounds harder than it is. But trying to hear/sing the words really sets up those little runs, especially the second pass.

He's seeing Fleetwood Mac on Monday sans Lindsey B I'm sad to say cause they cancelled back in March and are just now coming back round to honor the tickets but he was still part of the band back then so yeah bummer. Anyways I have a request. Andy is there any chance you could do some Gordon Lightfoot? Would love to hear your rendition of 'If you could read my mind' I've got some ideas on how you might arrange it but I bet some Lightfoot fans would love to hear you do Gordon justice.

damn Andy there's a load of love for Big love Paul Davids just dissected it as far as how many guitars were in it.. how many people still have to remember when you're trying to play like Lindsay is the fact that when he was a kid he began on the banjo.. and so much of his playing style to this day as he just celebrated his 70th birthday is the fact that he still plays like he's playing it. if you never play the banjoor know the fingering or the grip you will probably never get the Lindsey style of playing for the most part. you did a good job on this one. always a stickler to the little details and nuances which always makes your tutorials stand out😃

I learnt to play this by ear... this lesson would have helped so much! I also have no idea what notes and theory are if you beat me to death with them. I am happy that I had it right! So thankyou for this wonderful lesson mate. I just played it until it "felt" right. Took a few days but I can now play and sing it well. Keep it up everyone. Its a beautiful song to play.

My god man, your timing and voicings are impeccable! Sometimes at get togethers we just put on a few of your tutorials or opening demos...like for instance your beatles and neil young songs. Always a catch...my apologies but if you could see your way clear in the future,(if at all possible) to do some of "The Band" stuff, maybe something that is not obvious like, Acadian Driftwood, or unfaithful servant....thanks man, cheers!

Thanks for this awesome video lesson! It's perfect the way you have broken it down. I'm a novice finger-picker so I've been trying my own arrangement. On the second pass of the first 3 chords, I hit the B string on all 3 chords. I feel like it adds some more interest.

BRAVO! This is, in my opinion, the holy grail of Buckingham's song catalog if you are a lover of guitar masterpieces. Thank you so much...awesome song choice! Lindsey Buckingham is the artist of choice when it comes to intricate fingerpicking and when trying to master the independence of the thumb when playing bass lines. I saw a KZbin video of some unknown French guitar player that also chose this song for the same reasons...to learn intricate fingerpicking technique. Thanks again and anytime you choose a Buckingham song it's awesome to learn...much appreciated.
