Well, that's it then. Apparently I'm one of very few weirdos that got that freaky turn-around as a kid in high school in the 1970s, but forget some of Jimmy Page's other stuff!! As a player/performer/teacher, my advice is stick with Andy!!! He's the best I know of!

Black Dog is the song that made me want to pick up a guitar. I remember thinking, if I could just play that riff I'd be happy. I'm still not perfectly happy, but I'm getting there.

Thanks for your very cool tutorials, love the way you listen to the album and catch each chord, riff, rhythm and nuance that each song you’re teaching simply awesome. I know that you are a drummer that teaches really good guitar, just as I am a pianist that prefers the guitar, my band and I write heavy alternative rock songs that we plan to record after this pandemic is over. I am kinda not a beginner, but something in the middle and you’re tutorials are so very helpful. We wrote a,”silver wheels, ourselves when we recorded our first demo and we have met Ann and Nancy Wilson and your right about Nancy being humble, she’s a really cool lady. You are the rockstar here, Mike, love your playing and everything else about your channel. I promise that when we make it big, I will definitely get some monetary value for your channel. Battle on my friend.

Been "playing" this for about 25 years and missed several subtle details like fretting that A note with the middle finger to hold it longer and properly counting the turnaround. Seems minor but makes it sound so much more pro. I feel like I'm learning much more than just songs from your lessons, thank you!

Hello there .. This may be of some interest to some folks perhaps help to put things into context .. I am guessing you are Canadian or maybe Californian .. I can't quite be sure of accents as a a Scots guy .. But I lived thru the early times of Led Zeppelin & I was living in Cardiff when this album came out .. The thing is that while in America Zep ' were being treated like Demi - God's .. in England two things were happening in the British Press that annoyed the Band . First of all the ordinary peoples press just hated them .. Long haired druggies .. slated the 3rd album as " Having lost they're testicles etc " .. & in the Music press New wave & Punk etc were becoming a thing .. So "4 " was meant to be Take that ... I saw several interviews where Robert complained that no one wanted them in their own country which the Press translated as Abandoned Britain & too big for they're boots etc .. The Fans loved Led Zep' it was just the press & Jimmy stopped doing interviews .. plus I am convinced that the Top Ten guitar players List as published in the melody maker .. Jimmy's rankings were poor undeservedly .. & in one rare guitar magazine interview he was quoted as saying " No one can play Black Dog exactly like me " .. Ego's are strange things .. millions of records sold sold out concerts in enormous stadiums & a few bad reviews really got to him .. Plus having seen them live at Earls Court as close as any fan could get Try playing it with a les Paul hanging below your knees & held almost vertically at times .. He has been accused of being a bit sloppy .. but come on .. he was incredible live & yes JPJ was often playing huge parts that carried the songs .. But in Full swing as a live animal they were so much in touch with each other it was just an amazing thing to see & be a part of . The dynamics of the show .. 90 minutes plus most nights .. But yes a bit like who can really play the Key's part in Stevie Wonders multi tracked Superstition " .. Jimmy was on a mission & JPJ to be voted among the top ten players on the Melody maker list's .. & in Britain they were being .. I think paid back by the press for not playing the Game .. No singles No top of the Pops etc ( a pop t.v. show where no one played live ) .. But I do think you did a wonderful job of picking out the main parts of the song . Incidentally JPJ said in an interview after John Bonham had passed that no one ever played whole lotta love right either as he claimed to be playing most of the sound / riff on the bass ?? Thanks for an entertaining insight into the gtr riffs .. Have you seen Sheryl Crow doing Rock N Roll .. with Peter stroud on gtr .. I don't care what anyone says but Sheryl standing on top of the Grand piano shaking her ass that was worth the ticket LOl . cheers
