This video is a variation by variation creation providing tips and tricks on how a trombonist might attack the Arban's variations on the Carnival of Venice. The version displayed on screen is, unfortunately, in treble clef - which is the version I'm playing, and all I have available to me.

Yes I did and its the best version of carneval on trombone and it sounds very bad if you compare it to valves because you hear glisando were you need to hear staccato. Have you ever heard carneval on valve trombone? It sounds like on the trumpet, just lower. And i love trombone, but works like carneval of venice arent made for slide. If you play it on slide trumpet(soprano trombone) it sounds the same as slide trombone whitch is not good because of the articulation.

Trent - during the groups of seven here I personally start on the "ka" or "guh" of the double tongue, and then tongue after that as normal. In essence, making "guh-da-ga-da-ga-da-ga-da." For me I felt like it was a way of evening-out the legato passage. Also, NICE variation 3 (or whichever one had the arpeggiating 32nd's). Pretty impressive how you can play so many darn instruments!

+Tony Gastelum there's a kid like that at my school. He points to everyone and says "I'm better than you." He doesn't say that to me though. Probably because I'm a lot bigger than him (I think he's scared of me). I play 1st trombone in a big band at school and he plays 2nd trombone which is fine, the problem is that if I have notes and he's resting, he'll look over and play my part. It's so annoying.

@@wwemario12345 I fill your pain I just got 1st trombone on my marching music, in a small band though. Except everyone expects the music to be perfect when in reality music in no way is ever perfect. But we strive to get closer but there is no such thing as a perfect performance. Like at my state solo and ensemble I played my solo 'TWO SPANISH DANCES" and some of the time I played I forgot the little parts of the music. But I still lived through a one cause they took in mind that I played with good time quality. Ignore idiots and know that perfection is non-existent.

How do you double tongue with distinct staccato? The main problem I have with pieces like this an Czardas is the fact that the quick double tonguing oriented passages are strong staccato. I can double tongue at that speed, but I always end up slurring and connecting the notes rather than making a definite articulation.
@TrentHamilton
@TrentHamilton 8 жыл бұрын
+SoulTheScytheOG It's the difference in syllable when you double-tongue; instead of da ga da ga da ga, change to ta ka ta ka ta ka, or tih kih tih kih tih kih.
@SoulTheScytheOG
@SoulTheScytheOG 8 жыл бұрын
+Trent Hamilton Thanks. I'll try to work on syllables more. I've heard a lot about syllables on paper, bit felt like my tongue was acting differently. In my standard double and triple tonguing, usually move my tongue between the front of the edge of my mouth (close behind my front teeth) and the back edge of my mouth (closer to the roof of my mouth), even though I don't to this while actually speaking the syllables. It's almost like a harder doodle tongue syllable, but more definitely behind the edge of my mouth on the 2nd tongue. I'm not sure if I just naturally have an odd technique hindering me, so I suppose I'll just do some experimenting next practice.

They are two completely separate, although in some ways similar, instruments. It's also bass CLEF, not bass cleft. There are many brass band musicians who will have never played bass clef in their life, either on baritone or euphonium, as in the brass band they're both treble clef instruments.

VENICE CARNIVAL OI MADE FOR TRUMPET AND DOES NOT GOOD IN OTHER INSTRUMENTS BECAUSE IT DOES NOT MATCH THE SOUL OF THE TRUMPET SOUND. It's the same as playing a MOZART symphony with a 4-string set or playing a BACH leak in a harp. It gets bad. I can see that our TROMBONE PLAYER is a great musician. PLAY A TROMBONE CONCERT.

Also fun fact, The Carnival of Venice was originally a CORNET solo, not a trumpet solo, and the "soul of the cornet sound" is very different from that of the trumpet. So if you're going to say whatever that was that you did, at least check your own facts before trying to talk smack about others' playing.

@@colejackson6396 Dear friend. My intention was not to criticize but to provide subsidies for your videos. In fact the sound of the trumpet is not the same as the sound of cornet. You're right. Sorry

I`m not Being hater, because it was fantastic, but your Eb and you G aren't stable, in a big part, they are out of tune. Very good job, congratulations 👊

+FaDe yuman look kid, I am an all state level musician and I have to practice my butt off every day of the week to maintain that level I've been able to achieve. No one really cares if you got "natural talent". Only one musician in the world doesn't need to practice at all and his names is James Morrison. Check out his stuff and you'll learn what real talent is

+FaDe human woah 700 dollar scholarship! I got a full ride scholarship to CCM and will be going in 2 years since Im a junior in HS(tuba player). Come back when you have proof that you can play it. I don't think any 13 year old can play carnival of venice, much less on trombone.
