I've always wanted to be able to play this piece and you've inspired me to try. I'm not sure Chopin will be too happy with the results...but thank you, very clearly explained and like all good teachers I was thinking 'I can do that!'. So useful to have someone explain it so well. A thumbs up and a subscribe.

@AtmosMr Жыл бұрын
@Jalil Nazarli well I didn't expect any follow-up! I started and failed a bit tbh. However, I've progressed with the Waltzes and now have about 7 of them played 'a la Hutton'. A few of my personal embellishments and a hearty use of the smudge pedal and I can make them pass! But you have reminded me that I should have another go as I do feel I have progressed technically and I feel a lot more confident. I'm working occasionally on etude op 10 n 3 and am starting to get the progression of the fifths. Still a bit to go. Thank you for asking.

My problem is when playing upwards then it is much easier than playing downwards. Because I don''t really see the keys to be played: playing upwards I can focus on the starting notes but downwards it is quite unconfortable to focus on the upper starting notes and my brain is just guessing the notes to hit. . . Do you have a good hint what to try to focus on, what notes try to catch with my eyes to help learning to be accurate?

What do you think about putting the 2nd finger for the second chord (D chord) of the piece instead of the middle finger? Great vid by the way just discovered your channel! I would love if you could do a video about improving sight reading! I improve so slowly yet my teacher can sightread basically anything even hard chopin etudes or sonatas (insane)! And when I ask him how he does it he says that I just need to read!
@PianoSecretsChannel3 жыл бұрын
Yes, you can use 2nd. I wouldn't care so much about sight reading. I would prefer that you concentrate on learning a full piano piece each week. That's 52 pieces a year. Considering that Beethoven has 32 Sonatas with 3 movements each in 2 years you will be able to do them all. Then you will be able to sight read them all because you already did them. Also when you sight read in most cases you memorize nothing.

Fingers not light enough and too tense is probably ur issue
@guin43563 жыл бұрын
@@davidwang531 I don't really think that's the problem. My fingering is good, my fingers are quite light, but "tense" enough in order to play loud so I can get the precision I need.
@davidwang5313 жыл бұрын
@@guin4356 that’s exactly the problem, the fingers are tense to compensate the accuracy issue, and that tension affects speed, which I assume is your main issue

@PianoSecretsChannel6 жыл бұрын
Well, We have 3 minor scales: Harmonic, Melodic and Natural. Harmonic minor: C D Eb F G Ab B C Melodic minor: C D Eb F G A B C Natural minor: C E Eb F G Ab Bb C (Natural minor comes from Eb Major) The Natural minor is the one you are referring to and it is fine. However I used the C minor harmonic because the etude it is based on harmony. Of course the etude uses all 3 scales and many more. Thank you for your feedback! Hopefully this helps.
