Loved the whole thing, from beginning to end. I love the clarity with which you explain every single detail. I hadn't played this prelude in a long time until right after I paid attention to your indications. I guess I've been kinda lazy for a long time now with regard to playing the piano. In any case, it's wonderful to find people like you who can explain things well and play really well, too. Chapeau!

6:55 with the long chord starting at D flat on the left and F natural on the right, I would play the F octave with my right and the left played up to the B Natural. Is the way you've played it your choice or more as to how it's written?
@Antune2 жыл бұрын
I played how Chopin wrote it, but you can, of course, take it as an octave with the right hand. Just make sure to keep the upper F brighter so you can distinguish both F as melody and accompaniment layer. Good luck!

@@Antune No problem, I understand. However, you have provided us with a wonderful idea... so simple, yet brilliant. We've started marking up our sheet music (as you've done in your tutorial). It really helps with learning a piece, practice, and certainly visualizing the different voices, which is challenging for most students. My piano teacher and her colleagues LOVE it! I think you've caught on to something! Thanks all the same (for the inspiration)! Have you done a tutorial on Johannes Brahms/ Intermezzo Opus 118 nr 2, yet. If not, hopefully we'll be able to see you take on it one day!
@dalexis212 жыл бұрын
In bar three, I notice a lot of players (and scores) play two notes with the right hand, whereas you use the left thumb (except for note three). Can you talk about this? I'm trying to decide which way to play it generally, it seems you like to isolate the melody to the right hand as much as possible - which also seems to be how Chopin wrote it?
@Antune2 жыл бұрын
The only reason I use the left thumb is to have a more satisfying legato. Playing both intervals with the right hand will sound less connected because the thumb is used repeatedly.
