Very cool to find this, Mark. Great job. When others find this game, they may want to know about variants. I recall there are versions regarding # of players. Three: The next player in the rotation is the clubbed target. The rotation order matters as two players can gang up to beat down the third. Four: Pairs form teams, like in suit games. The combined card counts from opposite players (teams) determine the winning team.
