I'm too old to play, but as a fan of the game these videos help me understand at a deeper level how the game is played. Thanks for the memories Glover!

It's great to see this material around for kids playing today. I wish I had videos like this to reference when I was playing safety way back. Awesome stuff.

That was an excellent play by the corner (Mathis) in the Lions Vikings game. He had 3 guys he was responsible for. Took away the corner route and then quickly got down to take care of the flare the back was running. Excellent job and great breakdown!

Glover, that stuff is amazing! I wish you were around with this back in the day when I played High School ball. Kids and coaches now-a-days are blessed to have this type of instructional videos from a professional. I'll get with my buddy Joe Thyne (football coach), you remember him, and have him share this with coaches around the league. BTW, your hoodie is dope man. haha

This goes to show that defensive scheme is nothing without guys who can make split second decisions and have the ability to attack the ball. In the vikings play if the corner doesnt stay in phase with the over the top guy then its an easy 20 yard completion. If he doesnt get his head around to read the QB he cant break down to get the RB for a minimal gain. If hes caught over committed to the over the top guy then he gets blocked up and RB gains 10 yards minimum.
@JBullock54 Жыл бұрын
They go hand in hand. Put great players in the wrong scheme and see what happens. It was a tremendous play by him though, because he was being attacked by three different routes. Casuals need to learn scheme though, before assigning blame

Hey, I was wondering if you could answer some of my questions, so in cover 2, is it always covering the flats, or is it depended on if the halfback is going on that specific side. Another question is if the receiver is going deep in cover 2 do I fade into covering him or do I stay in flats. Thank you, and hopefully, you can answer these questions because they will really help

Is the 2nd example (lions vs Vikings) why are the LB’s so deep off the ball? Would a check to run make the D vulnerable in this situation?

The only time I like cover 2 zone is when you only have 30 yards or less to defend because if you don't get a pass rush your best corner backs are in the flats or curl and the other team best wideout vs a Safety
