I do live in Britain and just got my banjo. If I learn Dixie land I’ll be so happy.

Howdy Tim! Well, of course I want you to join the site, but that aside, I definitely think an intermediate player can learn this. I have about 25-30 minutes of instruction on how to play this song, and with some quality practice, I think you can do it! Plus, I have some melodic playing videos on the site that help you with this style. Give 'er a try!

Great big swedish viking thanks to you! I´m learning the banjo, and this walkthrough helped me a lot! Tusen tack! (1000 thanks in swedish)

The fact that I see a Viking aggressively going at it on a banjo while aggressively singing makes me laugh.

Awesome as always. Super old video I know, but I love the way you play this tune. I sure wish you had a video like this for rose of alabama...

Thank you so much for this. I am a student teacher from Mt. Vernon, Ohio (the home town of Dan Emmett) and I am teaching in a big city and all of my students ask me what my hometown music is like, so now I can play my hometown music on banjo instead of fiddle.

George Washington was on the CSA's seal. Yankee doodle is an early American thing so really it's only fitting. It'd be great to hear a rendition of the Bonnie Blue Flag on your banjo

Ben, I'm tempted to join the website in order to learn this song. But be straight with me. Can someone who, on his best day, is only an intermediate player, handle this song? It looks very advanced.

that really sounds cool in the beginning and at the end! I am still trying to figure out how to get that kind of sound. I have a Deering Good Time Open back banjo, and I just wanted a second opinion if I should get a resonator for the back? Thanks
@knife_tricks_and_pics24808 жыл бұрын
I have the same exact banjo with the resonator and I have to say it sounds a lot more crisp and gives a good ring to notes it also makes the banjo a lot more durable! Definitely worth the buy!
