I really liked this way of putting it. You can do pretty much whatever you want, but there are only 3 simple steps to structure the actions. I would even argue that you could simplify it even further. 1. This is your situation. 2. What do you do? Repeat: 1. This is your (new) situation. 2. What do you do?
@angelsegarra11353 жыл бұрын
you are right in that step 3 becomes step 1 for the next cycle, but 'repeat' is the third step in your write up which now takes 5 steps to explain.

So where do the storylines come from? Who decides the scenarios outcomes? Who decides how much stamina or stealth you have? Why are there so many different looking dice? I love the idea of a fantasy game, I just don't understand the human element involved in the story. Is it always the DM game? And you just play along?? I have so many questions. Thx
2 жыл бұрын
I agree it's not that simple and I somehow feel ripped off for watching this..
@kimiscottage Жыл бұрын
im new too... to get your character statistics tho, you make stat roles with four 6-sided dice. the lowest number gets taken out and 1's get rolled again. you roll 6 times. you might want a players handbook tho, because it tells you what your modifiers are based on your stat rolls. depending on what you decide to be (character) will help you choose what numbers you use your stats for. for example, i'm an elf and a cleric (healer) and have higher stats in charisma and wisdom.
@kimiscottage Жыл бұрын
the person that decides the scenario outcomes is your dungeon master, often referred to as your dm. they are the person who run the game and come up with the story. they tell you where you are, if you need to roll for an action, and your outcomes.
@kimiscottage Жыл бұрын
a lot of it is only comparable to human environment. dnd involves a lot of magic and spells as well as fantasy characters (elves, centaur, etc.). while concepts can be compared to human environment for understanding, it doesn't always apply.
