One of the, if not the, best tutorials for this song. In the last 14 years there’s been dozens of tutorials, many with way too much talking, over explaining, and just too arduous to sit through. I went through many before this popped up in my feed and I said “ we’ll, here it is”. This tutorial just made it too easy and a no brainer. THANK YOU WORDLESS GUITAR WARRIOR!

This is an awesome tutorial!! THANK YOU!! Yes you have to watch the video - hit pause, play, pause etc - to understand the picking pattern but the way he does it makes that easy. I was a very basic beginner in 2006 and hadn't touched my guitar for 8 years. Heard Dust in the Wind on the radio two weeks ago and decided to start learning to play again. Googled the song, landed on this video and I am back to learning again celebrating my 60th birthday. Once again, Thank you. Maybe one day I will be good enough at playing this solo to post it on You Tube.

I'm going to join in with you and Debbie S and say that I started playing with a flat pick in 1966 and still play daily. But because I was to lazy to learn to finger pick I lost out learning how to play this wonderful classic. That is until I came across this fantastic easy to follow tutorial and after three months of daily practice....I still suck, but I'm sure having fun. I thank blowa for the time and energy it took to produce this excellent free tutorial, your efforts are highly appreciated..

This is easily the best tutorial video i have come across. I love how you illustrated the placement of your fingers, and the pace was perfect. Slow enough to clearly see each string as you pluck, but not too slow, to where you dont hear the song forming as you go along. And lastly, the way you showed each chord ontop of the screen, in tab form. All of the things i just pointed out are things ive found in other videos, but never all together in one video. I REALLY HOPE YOU WILL CONSIDER MAKING MORE TUTORIALS. I have made a tutorial a while back on a simple finger pick pattern, and after watching my own video, i realized some people are meant to be teachers, and others were meant to be students. I am a better student.

Most impressive. I read comments as well and seems wee all agree it is much better than talking constantly it throws you off. Showing your picking hand, especially with this one ( Kansas Dust in the Wind ), then showing tabs instead of trying to find out where fingers are. woah woah keep the horses buddy! :) just here me out, the way i show it in this video is the way kansas plays it, 2 chords are little different..see more info for that.. so just follow this tut and you will play it right! if you play a drifferent picking pattern it's fine..you won't notice big differences to my version/orignal version...till you come to the solo part!there the different pickingpattern will be noticed!

For those that don't like the two chord changes, learn it both ways and decide for yourself instead of picking this awesome video apart. It's no harder to play the Dm7 than the Dm. The three finger D/F may take a little more effort though than the 2 finger Blowa showed you. Eventually you'll want to learn the 3 finger way. Tom Petty uses it in Yer So Bad, Buffett in Pirate looks at Forrty and Zevon uses it in Lawyers, Guns and Money but drops his pinky on high E 3rd fret.
