I actually invented a vernation of this game because I didn't understand the card moving rules to Eight Off when I was a kid.

Eight Off is the game that Baker's Game and Freecell ultimately come from. What sets Eight Off apart is its large reserve, which makes it comparable in difficulty to Freecell despite having more restrictive rules otherwise. Baker's Game is much tougher than both: while it allows any card to fill an empty space as in Freecell, the fact it only allows a reserve of four cards combined with its restriction to packing the tableau by suit means it's likely you'll win fewer than half of all deals unless you get very good at playing. One merit of Eight Off and Baker's Game is that, since all building and packing is done in suit, a card that can be played to a foundation pile has no use in the tableau, which allows for potentially large moves. If you like games in this family, others to try include Sea Towers (also known as Seahaven Towers), Penguin, and Stalactites.
