I can drive with my dualshock controller but i cant bind them

The one and only single issue I have and I've tried a mutitude of different make's and model's of game pad's. Is setting the steering sensitivity and lineier setting. I had been utilizeing a wheel, which developed major issue's when a rat knawed the various cable's. So not having suffice fund's, switched to using a game pad. And though unlike previous version's prior to 1.49. Where there's was insufficent button's. and now there isn't. Have no issue setting anything but the dam steering sensitivity and linier setting. I seem to be able to drive on the highway like a pro, or on local street's like a pro. But can't seem to find a middle ground, allowing me to drive on both like a pro.
