I can pick. OR I can change chords. I cannot do both. 🙄
@ericmiller37533 ай бұрын
The chords are pretty easy. As Rob mentions, I find damping the strings to practice the right hand picking over and over gets that down pretty well. Then I play the left hand chords and find the tonality then helps further improve the picking. All at low pace until I have it good enough to start increasing speed. This helps with all the different picking songs, whether with or without a pleck 😊.

Can’t quite get to the shuffle rhythm in the pick. More practice!
@ericmiller37533 ай бұрын
Two things helping me on this one: heading to the last G shape, play the open 2nd string as your hand is moving to the G. Then you’re in position for the 6th string “G”. Also, a cheat Rob would likely not encourage, to help get the shuffle rhythm down, and relieve some mental concentration, I: pluck the bass 5th string and then pull the three high strings with your three fingers for each shape. The fourth G you pluck the 6th, bass string. Maybe if you sing you can better concentrate on the lyrics than the plucking in this way. This did help me get the shuffle vibe better, putting me back to the picking pattern. IMHO 😊
