Love this game! One quick note, at 30:53, the mechanized unit that rolled a 1 doesn't disengage itself, it forces the defending infantry to retreat (which it can't, so it is eliminated). This exact scenario is given as an example of page 17 of the rules. The reference card can be a bit confusing with the way it is written. Thanks for putting this video together. A very underrated game and my favorite of the Gamemaster series!

Thanks for playing this, never played. I did get A&A and Shogun but I never got this one for some reason or other, was fun to see the rules and play

You're welcome, appreciate the kind comments! Not sure that it breaks any new ground that A&A and Shogun haven't kinda covered, but the concept is a lot of fun, and it really drips with theme. Obviously, a lot to better to play with 2 or 3 other players than solo like I did.

My brother and I had this when we were growing up. Always reminded us of Red Dawn. Maybe it was just us but if the American player just fought a delaying action the invaders would rarely win. The Commies in the East had the best chance due to all the cities. Fun review, thanks for posting it. We had A&A and Shogun back then as well.

I bought this game in 1987, bought from KB Toys for $29.99. Played a few times with my oldest son in the mid 1990s. Unfortunately, my son lost all the game pieces. I can't wait to show him this game.

Too bad about the pieces (suppose it wouldn't be too hard to jury rig something to replace them- or play him on Vassal!). Its a fun game. I appreciate the view and the comment!

@@michaelbutler2180 nah, if he had good memories of it, it was probably worth the loss of the pieces. I had my son do that with some of my wargames, and 15 years later I'm glad he played with em.
