I'm super happy to hear you enjoyed the video! I really appreciate the offer to collaborate, especially since I've really enjoyed your content (also I always get a good laugh out of your weekly warhammer video). Although, I can't make any promises yet about creating a FEC video yet, since I want to wait to see how the battletome shakes out, but I'd be happy to touch base sometime after their new battletome releases. If I do end up making a video I'd love to come on your channel to discuss the army, I've always liked their lore, and it's awesome to see the new models reflect the lore so well. Feel free to contact me through email: rocometdesigns@gmail.com

The idea of the Bad Moon inflicting fungus onto people when its light shines makes me want an army of a completely different faction, that's covered in mushrooms. It would be a good nemesis army for a member of a play group who runs Gloomspite Gitz. Plus, I've been wanting to start a Turnip28 army that heavily leans on a mushroom theme. So this could apply to both.
@rocomet Жыл бұрын
I love the aesthetic of Turnip28, would definitely give it a go if I had people to play it with and the time to start playing another game system. I could totally see a cities of sigmar army fit that theme

Hey, thanks for this! It's very interesting to hear the specifics of how all this stuff works. I'm an older-school wargamer who lived through End Times, and thus started off with a poor opinion of Age of Sigmar. However, I've been trying to get over that bias and give it a fair shake in the last few years, so I decided to check out one of the armies that always captured my heart - namely Goblins! Separating them from Orcs was one of the few AoS decisions that I whole-heartedly agree with without reservation - they had a different character and deserved better than just being Orc cannon fodder (it's not like Orcs were lacking in cannon fodder of their own!). In fact, back in the day, running all-Goblin armies supported by Trolls, Giants, and Artillery was already a pretty common strategy, so really, making the Night Goblins their own faction was just making official something that was already being done.

Just wanted to say, thanks so much for this video, super appreciate it. I've had my Gitz army, sitting on my floor, all in their original boxes for a year now and I've finally worked-up the motivation to build them. I don't really know what direction to go with them, but this is very helpful. I also appreciate how slowly you speak; it's very helpful for allowing me to really absorb the information you're putting out there, especially when I'm distracted (as I am with building). Lastly, I know you have polls, but I'd love to see this same thing for Nighthaunt, my first army. I know they're kind of bad right now, but even in spite of that I'm really struggling and frustrated with them, so I'd love some advice on what I could do to play them more competently.

I've been going hard on Gloomspite lore lately so I'm primed for some weirdness. I'm gonna review your lists and brainstorm. I don't know if I want a tournament viable list, or an army strictly based on just whichever models I think are the coolest. Because I know I'm buying Trugg, those Manglersquiggs, and the Troggboss already anyways. (and the Loonshrine too, if just for display) But sick lists, they're a great place to start. Great vid, good stuff! Bout to check out your Skaven one next while doing my damndest to not commit to a 5th army.

I wanted to check actually about your note with the Loonboss on Giant Cave Swuig. Wouldn't running him next to some Boingrot Bounders be pretty strong ? Allowing them to fight immediately after he has fought could be pretty brutal.
@rocomet10 ай бұрын
It would be fine at best, this effect is on a handful of different small heroes in different armies and most of the time it's just a cute bonus, but you wouldn't want to take the hero if it's all they did. The main issue is, if you plan on having it fight alongside some boingrots in succession, it could easily be argued you are just better off spending the points on reinforcing said boingrots an extra time. The larger Boingrot unit receives buffs better, you'll have less charges to worry about, and make make use of the 4+ rally better. If the Loonboss on Squig did something else or also buffed boingrots in some way, then maybe there would be case for him. If you like the model it's not awful, but it's not optimal.
@Jelle188010 ай бұрын

I'm looking at starting a Gitz army for AOS for a path to glory beginning next year, so glad I stumbled upon this! Must be the influence of Da Bad Moon that led me here. Also question, how can you do the conga line of squigs in that one example? Dont' they need to each be within 1" of two other models at that size, so you couldn't have them in a line like that?
@rocomet Жыл бұрын
They do have to follow that rule for coherency reasons, and you are right in that *most* units cannot string out like that. However, squig herd are pretty small and go on 25mm bases, and 25mm is slightly smaller than an inch. So you can string out units on 25mm bases as long on they are base-to-base with each other and they will stay in coherency.

Relatively new to Warhammer and I'm building up my Gloom spite Gitz army. Love them and I'm playing against my friends this weekend, so this video is a huge help. Was just wondering though, doesn't the loonboss riding a cave squig allow a unit of Boingort Bounderz to attack immediately after him? Love the content keep up the good work!
@rocomet11 ай бұрын
Yes. The reason I call the unit un-optimal in my video is mostly because I don't think it's a very powerful effect to warrant bringing it if you are trying to build a really strong gitz list. At that point all he is doing is bring a little extra melee damage and if you want to do that, you are probably better off just reinforcing the Boingrot unit.

Where is the part about how to beat them? 😂
@rocomet10 ай бұрын
Gloomspite Gitz just can't be beat, it's that simple :( But actually I just decided not to put it in the video, was for a few reasons but mostly that the video had already become the longest project I made at the time and I didn't want it to take up any more work. Although I did write the script for it, so I'll just leave it here. Although as a warning, some of it might need some tweaking, or have changed since I wrote it. "Now of course I know there will be a portion of the people watching who don’t even play gloomspite so this section will be devoted to what kind of effects and strategies tend to be especially potent against gloomspite gitz armies The biggest challenge for gloomspite that I’ve found is long range damage, and this is for a couple reasons, firstly gloomspite grot heroes are some of the most frail in the game, usually only having 4 or 5 wounds. So if your army has damage output that gets around look-out-sir notably mortal wounds from spells then make use of that. The other reason ranged damage can be problematic is it means that the opponent can often shoot at multiple different units, causing damage and killing models without having to engage. And if multiple gloomspite units take battleshock, inspiring presence won’t be enough to save them all and they will be hemorrhaging models. Shutting off commands is also extremely scary obviously because once again inspiring presence is really important, and the moonclan 4+ rally keeps the army pretty resilient, but also units like rockgut troggoths are very reliant on the troggboss giving them all-out-attack for the additional +1 attack bonus. Looking at the stats you can see that without the troggboss all-out attack, their damage output is close to halved. Which is debilitatingly bad for the gloomspite player. And on the squig side of things there are a couple things you should keep in mind, for boingrot bounders it’s mostly that they need to be charging to do any amount of meaningful damage, so out of anything in the army they are the most susceptible to attrition fights, they don’t have the bravery or damage to punch out of getting charged by a big block of 30 skeletons with their constant regeneration or 10 pink horrors with their -1 to hit effect and absurd amount of wounds. For squig herd, it’s important to know your options, like I mentioned before the squigboss just isn’t durable, if you are able to kill him off before he is able to hero phase move the squigs, that will at the very least keep the squigs off of you for a turn. But if you can’t and end up with 72 wounds worth of squigs in your face then you are going to want to play it smart. If the best option is to kill them, then you will want to aim to kill a little over half of them assuming your opponent doesn’t have the indomitable triumph, as on average for every squig you kill another will flee and you don’t want to put more resources into killing them than you absolutely have to since doing around 36 damage already isn’t a small feat. This also leads into my next point, don’t engage the squig herd unless you actually need to. If the opponent has a big block of squig herd on an objective backed up by grinkrak then it might just be worth ignoring that if possible since at minimum that’s going to be around 640 points worth of stuff devoted to a single objective, probably even more if they have other support pieces. You might just be better off using a screen to block a lane and find some other less guarded objective to get control of. Also with grinkrak, squig herd do about as much damage back as they will take so if you do fight them, expect to lose whatever unit you charged in, they probably aren’t going to survive the fight on death, the regular combat activation and then also the mortal wounds from fleeing. And because squig herd do regenerate there isn’t really any point in sending in some unit to fight unless it can actually take them down. You don’t want to lose a unit for no reason. Next is one that may be difficult to do depending on your army, but using the monstrous action smash to rubble on the loonshrine and destroying it gets rid of a lot of utility, so if you have a sneaky teleporting hero like a verminlord deceiver or a fast flying monster like a bloodthirster or a vengorian lord then this is a good way to knock them down a peg."
