I now want there to be a magical item of a tarrasque foam/foam adjacent suit that gives one protection, but also some of the features and attacks of the tarrasque. The downside being if you wear it too long you get a point of level of exhaustion.

Kaiju are on the table now? That's great and bad at the same time. Gamera the giant flying turtle, Gigan the blade armed cyborg, and everyone's favorite, Grape Ape. Grape Ape is a Kaiju by definition, fight me if you disagree. Also realizing that wow, back to double December. I remember starting to watch just before last year's, so I've been watching Tulok for over a year now. Thanks for all the wonderful builds!

@@oskuroblck the joy of a Tulok build is how he can mix and mash skills using multi-classing. For instance, how could you incorporate Jinx’s bad luck into the build besides negative modifiers? Or how balanced can you make a Fighter/Artificer subclass for Vi?

Way I see it, Vi is a variant human but Powder/Jinx is a Custom Lineage to focus on Dexterity. She’s got so much shimmer in her that it pretty much makes her a mutant! Both could have the Urchin background, but for Jinx I’d go ‘criminal’. Jinx definitely is an artificer of the Artillerist Specialty, multiclassed into Rogue (thief), but Vi? She’s not an idiot but she didn’t make her own hextech equipment. Intelligence isn’t at the forefront of her punching. Multiclass Barbarian and Fighter to get rage, fast movement, second wind, action surge, and the unarmed fighting style. Oh, and if Tulok counts Matt Mercer’s Exandria homebrew as viable source material, go for the revised Barbarian Path of the Juggernaut for emphasis on demolishing buildings and surroundings with your punches, and Champion Fighter for even better crits. Altogether, high enough a level, most of VI’s punches will deal an adult dragon’s breath damage worth of bludgeoning damage. As for her gauntlets, reframe them as like, Gauntlets of Ogre Might or even the Titan Stone Knuckles filed under a different name! It helps to make an alliance with artificer savants. Of course, Tulok might go a different route if he goes for building these two sisters at all!

When I first saw this video, I was beyond shocked and a little agitated that Godzilla was a 20th level Druid. But then I started thinking about it. It fits a lot. Godzilla is an age-old beast who can survive a whole lot of punishment and he's got an insane amount of powers. Which reminds me, I think the spells you chose for Godzilla's powers fit perfectly! Godzilla having spells reminds me of the nuclear pulse, regenerator organ, and the always awesome atomic breath. I've been a long time viewer of yours, Tulok. And I've always wanted to see a Godzilla build (Kong is an added bonus), and I'm happy to say that you have exceeded my expectations. Long live the King!

I tried thinking up a Godzilla build for D&D once. My idea was to make him a Fizban's red dragonborn beastbarian/rune knight fighter, but that ran into the problem of only getting to be large if I also wanted the gills and swimming speed from beastbarian. Also, in before this video gets taken down by Toho.

I get hazodee as a monkey-like base, but it feels like a bugbear has the more ape-ish build with the long arms and extra reach. I worked out my own version of a Godzilla build a while back, but I'd have to dig out the notes.

Part of me feels like Magic Initiate for Guiding Bolt would've been a good final Feat for Godzilla as well - that way you have an extra damage option for your breath weapon while Wild Shaped without needing to break concentration on Enlarge/Reduce.

Where does it say you lose class abilities? You are limited in the kinds of actions you can take, but I can't find anywhere where it says that you lose class abilites.

@@milamberarial huh... Well, WildShape and ShapeChange specifically states you do, so... Specific beats general, so because Polymorph doesn't say you retain your class and race abilities, then you don't, but yeah, I was Damn Sure it was written you can't use Class Abilities, but it doesn't

For instance, if there was a rule that any form of shapeshifting lost class abilities, then Wild Shape saying you keep them, it would apply. If there is nothing saying you lose something, then you don't lose it. So the King Kong build is still completely viable.

Double Build December two years in a row? We don't deserve this gift, but will happily enjoy every video. Now with these, we have Tulok approved builds for both these iconic Kiju, but the biggest question is it their builds would have changed if Circle of the Bones was on table? Still great builds and could be fun to terrorize some players with. Looking forward to what other surprises come this December.

Just curious, why didn't you use the Rune Knight fighter subclass, cast enlarge/reduce on yourself with a multi-class, then pummel away?

Also I think with Rune Knight you can only get up to merely Huge and that's if you keep your multi-classing low

Yeah, 18 levels of Rune Knight to grow to Huge (Enlarge/Reduce is also a 2nd lvl spell, which isn't available until 3rd level for a full-caster). Also; transformation lasts only a minute and you only get those PB times per long rest. The bonus damage only applies to 1 attack per turn.

Kong: nah, make him a Rune Knight Fighter so he's a Gargantuan Giant Ape (shouldn't contradict polymorph). Also, take the Enlarge/Reduce spell so you can be Colossal.

Colossal doesn't exist in 5e and rune knight doesn't increase your size by 1 category it makes you large of you aren't already. The only way to become gargantuan is to play a race like fairy or duergar that grants you enlarge/reduce and take at least 18 levels in rune knight.

In an attempt to help the algorithm, I'll say that I came up with a Godzilla-inspired PC in the past that, similar to what people here are saying, was a Dragonborn Rune Knight; evidently I missed the memo, though, picking Amethyst and Force Damage over Crystal and Radiant Damage. I also had a Tortle Way of the Ascendant Dragon Monk inspired by Gamera, and, at the behest of a friend and fellow Kaiju enjoyer, I believe a Tiefling Bronze Draconic Bloodline Sorcerer *loosely* inspired by King Ghidorah. I'd also love to build a Kong-inspired Hadozee, but I'm putting that off until I see whether or not WotC takes the Path of the Giant Barbarian beyond playtesting; I don't have a problem with people using UA, but I prefer officially published options for whatever reason

Working on a super hero campaign and I wanted a villian that turns into a kaiju, so very happy for these builds (also is super Tulok for Kong to be an unexpected class like a Rogue, but also shocked that Kong isnt somehow also a bard). For people with Volos guide to monsters, Brontosaurus is also a great wild shape for Godzilla, you get both a stomp and a tail attack.

I actually made a King Ghidorah build. 14-6 split between Draconic Bloodline sorcerer and Rune Knight fighter. Lightning, flying, getting big, and punching (with extra heads that bite, but that's flavoring). Made him a gold dragonborn but gave him bronze ancestry cus gold is fire, not lightning.

Nice stuff boss! I honestly liked the kong build the best because it seemed to mostly come together sooner than the godzilla one. I love how much damage you stacked on him by the end, that was insane. But then, a giant ape hurling a boulder at you SHOULD HURT A LOT!

For the Kong build, you could start off with the first level of either fighter or barbarian so you can already have Con save proficiency and free up the ASI used for Resilient and instead take the Crusher feat, which can also give you a +1 to Con.

Giant Ape is absolutely my favorite polymorph. I thought when I picked up the spell with my bard a few years ago I would use it to be a dinosaur but Giant Ape is so unreasonably good that I used it all the time. Unfortunately polymorph doesn’t work that way, nothing on your character sheet applies to polymorph. Wild shape does work that way though, so maybe a few less levels of Druid and enlarge/reduce with a few more levels of rune knight fighter.

Alternatively, if you wanna become a great big boy without shapeshifting, consider the Giant Barbarian or Rune Knight Fighter. - Giant Barbarian increases your size when you rage, to large at 3rd level and then Huge at 14th level. - Rune Knight gives you a feature at 3rd level to increase your size to Large for 1 minute (a number of times equal to proficiency bonus), and then Huge at 18th level. Barbarian gets ultimate bigness sooner, leaving more room to multiclass, while Rune Knight doesn't have the rage limitation and can be combined with spellcasting.

I know people say Radiant damage is the closest to Radiation.... but Radiant damage is commonly decsribed as holy fire that destroys the soul. Necrotic Damage is described as rampant decay, which is closer to how radiation affects the body.

With that Kong build you could pick Variant Human for a pretty accurate Beast Titan build, from Shingeki no Kyojin, i mean damn, has even the rock throwing camper on it already! 😆

I feel like hopping into the dragon based monk class could work here as well. Gives the lizardfolk a breath weapon. And if you run out, using a ki point lets you dredge one up from your reserves to do it again. This is even better as a Dragonborn to start, as you essentially double the amount of Breath weapons you have. Weaker set for spamming damage, stronger set for focused damage. And like mentioned above, should you run out of the weaker set, a single ki point lets you fire off another one.

This isnt a huge error, but you said that Godzilla capped his Wis at 16th level even though he started with a 15->17->19. Switching around his starting Con(now 15) and Wis(now 14) and putting the +2 into Wis(now 16->18->20) fixes this and still lets him round off his Con to a 16 at 19th level with the Resilient feat.

Alternately, put the +1 Str boost into Wis instead, and get 16 Con and Wis right out of the gate; I've never seen a Moon druid use their own Strength mod for anything anyway, so no big loss there.

Heal like a cleric, AOE like an arcane caster, dominate melee in ways that make fighters weep for their mommy's, than, and boast a frankly disgusting pool of hit points that puts a Barbarian to shame.
