Yes. You need to replace the KV first on your 360. To do that, purchase one online (I'll throw a link to one I purchased to make this video) You wanna replace both the kv file and CPUkey.txt with a new one. If you a KV online, should have both files. Simply place those files on the root of your HDD. Let it overwrite than reboot. If the KV is not banned, should let you connect again!

so does the stealth server work kind of like a VPN? it is forwarding the connection from your console to the Xbox Live servers and spoofing the CPU key and other device info or am I not understanding it properly?

I honestly do not know the technical side of how they work. If I had to take a gander, gonna go with your logic & reverse engineering XBL on 360. One of the features Teapot offer was spoofing Xbox Live Gold as well.

It spoofs your CPU key and heaps of other things like your IP so you don’t get IP banned your MAC IP and your KV (Key Vault) is something you can buy if your console does happen to get a account ban to unban your console so even if you do get perma banned you can easily jsut buy a kv they use to be like £5 back in the day god knows how much now but yeah ps3 is different there are 2 IDPS and forgot the other one but you can get them free as Sony was hacked lol and everyone console IDPS got leaked 😂
