Hello Tomas! I am a 66 year old beginner, who has been working at this for 12 years. I stumbled across your channel a week ago, and found much of the information you have been putting out useful. Sir, if you could put a URL below for each of your lessons in sequence it would help. I pay for lessons weekly, but my instructor has taken the summer off. With the covid lock down, KZbin has been my go-to source for new Ideas. I understand music theory to a degree (Skeptical Guitarist) and own a used refurbished Taylor. I especially liked you cord progression lesson. It has given me a new direction to explore. Best Regards!

50 year old reporting for duty! Like most things, I wish that I knew what I know now when I was younger. My discipline has finally caught up to my ambition. :)

Hey Tomas, this is a great video to reassure my experience to learn to play guitar starting at 63 is not unique and my approach is actually not too bad. It does indeed takes a lot of hard work, practice time and determination. And unfortunately I meanwhile figured out: IT DOES TAKE TIME to improve your skills. You have to be in it for the long run. Thanks for all the effort you put in all your instruction videos. Really appreciated

Learning on the internet is really good for information. The problem is there is no interaction, no one to no no do it like this. And yes your right, finding someone you click with. It may take longer but I’ll get there. Thanks for your time Thomas

Thanks Tomas, Positive Mental Attitude is EXTREMELY important, especially for those of us that have started this journey later in life. There will always be someone you will see that picks things up faster than yourself. I've had many hobbies over the years, they all have the same general theme, "put the work in". Don't get caught in the "if I just buy the better equipment, it'll make me better". It might give you a small bump, but won't turn you into Tiger Woods or Chet Atkins. Just my 2 cents.

I am 70 years old. Starting learning guitar at 68 after playing drums for 56 years. I found that the real trick learning guitar, or any instrument, is to keep it fun. If it’s not fun, you won’t keep at it. You also have to realize that learning to play and being able to play are two very different things. It takes time and practice. And don’t get hung up on doing it “the right way”. Music is art. Art is interactive. If it sounds good it is good. Do it your way!

Thanks for this. At 56 I've just ordered my first guitar and by coincidence went for something I thought looked and sounded good for exactly the reasons you mention. My wife was more down the cheap and second hand route until I 'proved I liked it' so i suggested I'd take up the violin instead...... that seemed to work!

My brother started on the violin Mike. It was painful. 😬

You sir are a good encourager!! I'm 53 and I catch myself looking at some chords and thinking my fingers will never get there...then I change it to maybe but that's ok I will make the most out of what I can do!! And you're right there are some things I didn't plan on learning that I can do. Appreciate your help and support with all your videos, God bless you 🙏🌈💗🌸🎸

I thought that already being a musician( piano and cello) was going to make guitar soooo easy- HA! HAHAHA!🤣😂🤩! Well, it did help that I already understood all the music theory basics, but it was still a challenge mechanically! I got very frustrated that simple things, like a C major chord, for example, was so hard for me on guitar, when it's so easy on piano! I'm really glad I persevered, though, I absolutely ADORE playing guitar- I actually enjoy it MORE than my piano, as my primary reason to learn, was to have a portable instrument to accompany me while singing🥰

I've heard other musicians say the same thing about guitar. Adapting to the physical part is a bit of a hurtle. I'm glad to hear you stuck with it. It's the perfect instrument for playing and singing.
