Just keep it simple then, for those struggling with flight combos, cancels. Simple combos, mix up with a kameo, laser eyes zone. Is what it is. I hated Jade in mk11 too. Ill have to play him simple. I cant do fancy shit like that. Same as Nitara, Sindel.

Or literally keep trying and trying till you get it that’s how it works. Go for it online don’t aim to win just aim to land something in particular and you’ll get better at it

I think all characters are like that on some level. I can't count the amount of times someone has hit me with a 50% combo but I still manage to win just because I can counter punish and poke better than them for the rest of the game 😂 30% combos are all you need

Try making your flip stance L1 not L2. Make throw L2. It’ll take some time getting used to but it’s SO much easier to execute

They F up the game with this patch. Cirax comes back to be top tier with the helicopter and combos are now inconsistent by adding the airborne feature

Don’t let em, when you see they start poking, just L trigger up into flight and immediately do back forward 2,1 and it’ll punish them for trying to poke or duck.

I just bought this game as I saw it was on sale, and I was intending on playing as Homelander mostly. Is he a good start up character? I’m not big into fighting games although I did put an unhealthy amount of hours into Injustice 1.

If you dont know much about fighting games, i dont think Homelander will be a good start for you. You can absolutely have fun spamming his lasers, but if you want to learn, youre gonna have a hard time. If you want to get good at the game i suggest starting out with Liu Kang, Sub Zero or Meelina. With these kharacters, i would say, you can most easily learn new stuff while sometimes beating better players than you.

Gotta say, when it comes to competitive games Homelander is really lacking. Any character with a teleport can just stop his zoning immediately and hes literally got like 2 mixups that get SO predictable

@Super I’m a huge fan of the show The Boys on Amazon Prime which I may have to go for a rewatch soon so I am refreshed by the time the entirety of season 4 is finished so I can binge it but, I am having so much fun with Homelander in this game, he is yet another hated character to fight against but I don’t give a shit because, he is so fun to play and there’s plenty of characters in this game I hate fighting but, I learn how to deal with those characters in a fight instead of bitching and moaning like this guy I met the other day. He was so insistent on doing Homelander’s punch parry and I had done my research and knew that it was a punch only parry and if I kicked him as he parried, it would counter him every time, so he kept trying to do it repeatedly the entire match so I just kept kicking him repeatedly and getting free damage to the point where he rage quit, got on the mic and yelled “you are trash bro!” Much like any other players and I thought to myself, I’m not trash I just know how to counter your bullshit because, I plan on maining Homelander so do you think I won’t do my research on how to not only play him but how to counter his moves when fighting him? Of course, I wouldn’t I’m not an idiot

I honestly think Homelander is great, but I’m not a fan of how he promotes passive gameplay with his eye beams and ppl just staying back and running while spamming it. He’s been out for a day now so we know ways to counter it now, but it’s still is annoying. Homelander is now the most annoying zoner in the game.

No he isn’t, peacemaker is still the best zoner in the game, only his up laser is 17 frames the others are 20 plus which is easy to react to plus very negative on block these ain’t getting spammed

Something worth noting is that omni-mans back+1 optimal combo doesn't work on homelander for some reason. Dunno why this happens, but it happens.
