Once again you make me add another hour of practice time giving me one more great song to learn. But I always start with where I left off the day before with doing your Piano Chord Breakthroughs . I am still working on level 1 songs but between your course and the Tutorials you are going to make a musician out me ! Everybody TAKE NATE'S 5 -LEVEL COURSE BREAKTHROUGHS ITS WORTH EVERY PENNY! I'm still looking for "We Are The Champions" Nate another "Nice Tied T Shirt" I was in middle school when the Animals sang House of the Rising Sun on the Ed Sullivan Show. Thanks for all your good work . Jim S. Oak Point ,Texas

wow looks like there is a lot of interest in this one! I'll have to mull over the arrangement...the walking bassline is a big feature but would be pretty difficult to play in the left hand especially while singing

Nate. Just brilliantly simply explained. I’m just about ready for open mic with it. I played Sweet Caroline for the first time and again this week at an open mic. It went pretty well. Your tutorial on it is just amazing. I really feel I’m making huge progress, going from mainly block chords to performances. Thank you again, and I am making headway with your course.

This quite timely - our band brought up doing this for a 60’s show we’ve been asked to do. Can you talk about the organ part? Does it just follow the progression?
@PianowithNate Жыл бұрын
That's awesome! The organ part more or less follows the piano part, same chords BUT the organ definitely does f7 and E7 rather than just the major triads. It would sound great just holding all the chords out (and does that a lot of the time) but also does some fast arpeggios which you could experiment with. Make it your own! :)

Is it possible if you can make a tutorial for (Wild Mountain Thyme)? Maybe with a little bit of melody, mostly chords. I got 6 working fingers, so whatever you can do. I know I already put a request for (And so it goes) so whenever you get to it. Much appreciated. Thanks

Many thanks for this tutorial. I have a doubt/question though. In the video and in the script you write chords like "C" (C major) but what you say and what you play is C inversed (?) and it is supposed to be written as "C/G" because you can "rotate" two keys so it would be ambiguous to just write "C"? What I am saying that it is not possible to play from the sheet what you are playing because this info of changed chords is missing.
@PianowithNate11 ай бұрын
Hi! I fully understand that the chord chart lacks all the information needed, and some "memorizing" from the instruction of the video is necessary which can be a challenge. On the C/G vs C...the slash chord would imply that the lowest tone heard, or bass note, would be the G. In this case, our left hand is still playing the root, C, and our ear still experiences a root position C chord, even though the right hand happens to be voicing it as an inversion. I have considered clarifying RH inversions more on the chord charts, but ultimately it leads to more ink on the page and a cluttered, overwhelming feel. I will continue to brainstorm how i could make this easier...i do appreciate your feedback!
